Since 2014, Ortigia has quietly built a reputation as one of Europe’s most captivating boutique music festivals, blending cutting-edge electronic music with the timeless charm of a Sicilian island rich in culture and myth. Now, in 2025, a new chapter begins with Ortigia Music—a fresh incarnation of the festival that embraces innovation, sustainability, and community, while preserving the essence that made Ortigia a beloved destination for music lovers around the world.
Running from July 31 to August 3, 2025, Ortigia Music transforms the historic island of Ortigia, located at the southeastern tip of Sicily, into a four-day celebration of forward-thinking electronic music. With a renewed focus on atmosphere, curation, and sustainability, this year’s edition features a boundary-pushing lineup across beachside stages, late-night dancefloors, and daily boat parties that drift into the Ionian Sea.
Opening on Thursday, July 31, the festival kicks off with a live AV set from Max Cooper at the Antico Mercato. Known for blending science, sound, and visual art into immersive experiences, Cooper sets the tone for a weekend that fuses sonic experimentation with emotional resonance.
By Friday, the action spreads across Ortigia: daytime sets at the Lido stage—co-curated with local record shop Malamore—highlight emerging local and national talent, while dual boat parties cruise the coast with sets from Modeselektor, Andrea Normanno, Elkka, and Salvo Miceli. That night, the legendary epipoli stage ignites with sets from DJ Python, Bambounou, Cristian Croce, and a second appearance by Elkka.

Saturday ups the intensity with high-BPM boat parties hosted by BIJOUX, Tatyana Jane, and Lo Straqen, followed by a late-night epipoli takeover featuring Modeselektor, DJ Stingray 313, Nite Fleit, and a fiery second round from Tatyana Jane—a lineup sure to shake the ancient stones of Ortigia until sunrise.
The festival closes on a high note Sunday, with a sun-soaked disco set from Locked Groove on the water, before transitioning to a final night at Varco 23. There, Claudio B and Steffi x Virginia—two powerhouses of sophisticated, groove-driven club music—deliver a celebratory finale under the stars.
With its roots in both local culture and global electronic music, Ortigia Music isn’t just another festival—it’s a curated journey through sound, sea, and history. As it sets out on this new path, the festival remains committed to fostering a future-focused scene while honoring the island’s enduring magic.
