San Francisco-based producer/DJ AMPRS&ND makes a powerful return with her new solo single “Sorry,” out now via Dirtybird as part of the label’s 20th anniversary celebration.

A bold and brooding addition to Dirtybird’s anniversary catalog, “Sorry” showcases the producer’s signature contrast of grit and groove. Anchored by a hypnotic vocal loop and a driving bassline, the track blends punchy, syncopated drums with melancholic melodies and moody synth textures, creating a late-night atmosphere that’s both emotionally rich and dancefloor-ready. The breakdown offers a moment of submerged stillness—like being suspended in deep water—before erupting back into a full-bodied drop that commands movement.

“I tried to strike a balance between something beautiful and something hard and gritty,” says AMPRS&ND. “I love the contrast between the somber melody and dreamy chords against the heavy leads. In the breakdown, I envisioned being swallowed by a whale with the water plugging your ears, and you’re lost for a second and disoriented. Then you float back up to the surface and the whale spits you out into the drop.”

A Bay Area native and a staple of the local underground for over a decade, AMPRS&ND has carved out a niche with her tech-meets-bass house sound. Her past releases on labels like DISPOSABLE, This Ain’t Bristol, House Of Hustle, and Farris Wheel have earned her a reputation for detailed, rhythm-forward production and emotive club energy. She made her Dirtybird debut in 2023 with Out Past 2,” a collaborative hit with BLK&WHT and Dances that quickly became a favorite across the label’s live sets.

“Sorry” marks her first solo release on Dirtybird, setting the stage for her upcoming performance at Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights, where she’ll bring her immersive, club-tested sound to one of the year’s most unique festival gatherings.

Stream “Sorry” now on all major platforms and stay locked in for updates on Dirtybird’s 20th anniversary releases, events, and exclusive merch drops at dirtybirdrecords.com.
