Melodic bass visionaries Taylor Kade and Fixion return to center stage with a stunning reimagining of their beloved anthem “Better This Way,” presenting a six-track remix package that amplifies the original’s emotional core with a bold dose of genre exploration. Out now via Lost In Dreams Records, the ‘Better This Way (Remixes)’ EP invites listeners to rediscover the track through a kaleidoscope of bass, drum & bass, orchestral, and UK-inspired reinterpretations—just in time for the 2025 festival circuit.

At the heart of the release is the duo’s own long-awaited VIP version, which has built momentum as a live-set highlight over the past year. While the original leaned into a pop-meets-melodic-bass crossover with poignant vocals and sweeping emotionality, the VIP mix pivots to festival mainstage mode—combining marching percussion, cinematic orchestration, and a dramatic shift into gritty dubstep chaos. The final twist? A drum & bass finale that seals the journey with a cinematic, genre-blending flourish.

“We love the original so much that we felt inspired to make a heavier, bass version of it for our live sets,” says Taylor Kade. “We finally got to test it at Beyond Wonderland—it was definitely a highlight of the set. Can’t wait to finally put it out!”

From there, a powerhouse cast of remixers elevates the narrative:

  • Danny Olson adds his signature cinematic bass stylings, layering lush orchestral textures with soaring emotional energy.
  • Kaidro brings a punchy jump-up DnB aesthetic, loaded with grime-tinged synths and breakneck momentum.

“Once I heard the vocal, I knew it would be a hit,” says Kaidro, who first connected with Taylor during Lost In Dreams 2024.

  • Howlan takes a neuro-glitch approach to drum & bass, chopping and morphing the original vocals into stuttering fragments over futuristic grooves.

“I instantly had an idea for a banger remix,” notes the Finnish producer. “Faster, groovier rhythms—I think it came out super sick.”

  • XLVR infuses his liquid DnB flair, crafting a moving duet out of the original topline with soft melodies and euphoric textures.
  • Rounding out the EP, Baclash from Denver blurs lines with a UK garage-breakbeat-electro fusion, closing the package on a fresh and rhythmically fluid note.

From cinematic crescendos to bass-fueled breakdowns, the ‘Better This Way (Remixes)’ EP reimagines one of 2024’s most emotive vocal anthems through the lens of six cutting-edge producers. United by a shared reverence for emotional storytelling and club-ready impact, each track transforms the original into something both familiar and thrillingly new.
