UK-based electronic producer and DJ Shadient has unveiled the first glimpse of his forthcoming INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS EP with the release of its lead single, “SECRET PATH,” out now via HypnoVizion. Known for his genre-defying approach and futuristic sound design, Shadient delivers a blistering, high-intensity statement that sets the tone for what’s to come.
Balancing chaos and clarity, “SECRET PATH” fuses razor-sharp synths, distorted bass, and warped rhythmic structures that pulse with both nostalgia and innovation. The track’s gritty texture and experimental construction pay homage to late-2000s electronic influences while injecting a bold, contemporary edge.
“‘SECRET PATH’ is a song I made inspired by a lot of the music I listened to around the 2007–2009 era and the feeling of mystery it gave me,” says Shadient. “I really wanted to capture that feeling and cram it into a loud, rhythmically addictive banger in a modern style and production standard.”
A longtime boundary-pusher, Shadient first emerged in 2014 and quickly drew the attention of forward-thinking tastemakers like Porter Robinson, Madeon, and RL Grime. He’s released standout projects on labels such as Sable Valley, mau5trap, and Pilot, and has lent his sonic signature to remixes for Feed Me, Nitepunk, and more. In 2023, Shadient made his HypnoVizion debut with “Blue In The Face” on Rezz’s IT’S NOT A PHASE EP—now returning to the label for his first full solo project.
Set to release this summer, INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS explores the inner tension between impulsive urges and calculated restraint—offering a visceral, immersive journey through Shadient’s most personal and complex production yet.
As anticipation builds for the EP’s full release, Shadient will also take the stage at Rezz Rocks on October 18, joining Rezz at her annual takeover of Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
