GRAMMY-nominated producer Alesso has dropped his official remix of “Ascension,” the powerful lead track from the Esports World Cup 2025 original music suite. Blending his signature progressive house sound with orchestral depth, the remix marks a bold sonic convergence of electronic music and esports culture.
Originally composed by Edouard Brenneisen of Hollywood Scoring and recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, “Ascension” features a commanding performance from fellow GRAMMY nominee Tina Guo, known for her work on film scores like Wonder Woman and video game titles like League of Legends Worlds. In Alesso’s hands, the cinematic original transforms into a euphoric, high-octane anthem that reflects the competitive spirit and emotional drama of elite gaming.
“I was so excited when this opportunity came to me,” said Alesso. “I’m a huge fan of esports and gaming tournaments—I’m a gamer myself—so combining my two worlds into one on this remix felt so natural. Creating this alongside Tina was incredible. We were able to create something that truly brings listeners into another world.”

The remix is part of the EWC Music initiative, a new creative program celebrating the intersection of gaming and music. The initiative launched in April with a four-track suite composed by 2WEI and Hollywood Scoring, also recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and will continue with additional artist collaborations, live performances, and global fan activations throughout the event.
The Esports World Cup 2025, taking place in Riyadh from July 7 to August 25, is set to be the largest competitive gaming event in history, uniting over 2,000 top players and 200 clubs from more than 100 countries, competing across 25 tournaments in 24 titles for a record-breaking $70+ million prize pool. Alesso’s remix of “Ascension” will feature prominently across tournament broadcasts, digital content, and on-stage experiences, including during the Opening Ceremony on July 10, headlined by Post Malone.
