French producer and DJ Notre Dame returns with the second release on his Paranormal Society imprint, unveiling the emotionally charged two-track Recollection EP. A sonic journey through memory, dancefloor euphoria, and raw introspection, the project marks a pivotal moment for the rising Parisian artist, following the label’s inaugural debut with “Do For Your Love.”
The Recollection EP contrasts two distinct yet interconnected moods. The title track, “Recollection,” captures the essence of vintage house through bright piano riffs and driving grooves—a nod to classic dancefloor anthems with a cinematic edge. In contrast, “Homesick,” co-written with vocalist Shoure, dives into deeper territory. Anchored in haunting melodies and reflective lyricism, the track is a melodic ballad steeped in longing and the universal need for sanctuary.
“This EP reflects a simple intention: to preserve two very different, but honest tracks,” shares Notre Dame. “Recollection is built for the dancefloor, with classic house piano and raw energy. Homesick, on the other hand, is a melodic ballad born from a quiet moment of feeling the need to go home. Two tracks, two moods, but the same desire to keep only what felt essential.”
Shoure adds, “We conceived Homesick as a melancholic ode to the sanctuaries of our lives. Despite the passing of time, nothing can diminish the pure, original love we hold for the places where we feel whole—our homes. The places we belong.”
The EP follows Notre Dame’s recent high-profile remix work, including reimagining Röyksopp’s “Sordid Affair” and contributing to Lenny Kravitz’s “Let It Ride” remix package. These collaborations reflect a deepening of his artistic voice and a growing reputation for emotionally nuanced storytelling through sound.
Since launching Paranormal Society in March, Notre Dame has defined the label as “a parallel world where music and art intertwine,” a concept that shines through his blend of French Touch aesthetics, cinematic arrangements, and classical influences. His unique sound has earned him releases on revered imprints like Diynamic, Innervisions, and Cercle Records.
As 2025 unfolds, Notre Dame continues to make waves with standout performances from Tokyo’s Womb to Paris’s Olympia and Miami’s Space, gaining support from tastemakers like Solomun and Pete Tong. With Recollection, he reinforces his reputation as one of electronic music’s most introspective and forward-thinking voices—a storyteller unafraid to explore vulnerability while delivering music that speaks to both heart and dancefloor.
