Tempio Festival Returns to Milan with a Bold and Inclusive Vision for 2025

Following a successful Berlin debut in 2024 that brought together over 150 artists and more than 2,500 attendees, Tempio Festival returns to Milan from September 18–21, 2025, offering a radically alternative and inclusive cultural experience amid the city’s usual branded event season.

Spanning over 4,000 square meters across Tempio del Futuro Perduto and Fabbrica del Vapore, this year’s edition will once again break boundaries with a multidisciplinary program that fuses electronic music, contemporary dance, photography, performance art, poetry, theatre, critical discourse, and more. From underground air-raid shelters to lush hidden gardens and industrial warehouses, the festival space is as eclectic as its programming.

At the heart of Tempio Festival is its music lineup, spotlighting pioneers of techno and forward-thinking sonic experimentation. Headlining is the legendary Detroit live duo Octave One, known for timeless classics like Black Water, Empower, and I Believe, who will perform on a special 4D open-air stage. They’re joined by techno stalwarts Rrose, Ben Sims, and Mell G, alongside standout performances like a b2b debut from Slin and Frederic, a rare live show by The Exaltics, and a hybrid prepared piano-meets-machine set from Fabrizio Rat.

The festival also champions Italy’s rising stars, with performances from Elisa Bee—a Tempio resident and Berghain regular—alongside local talents Diora Madama, Iride, Dolce Potente, and others who represent the evolving soundscape of the Italian underground.

Beyond the decks and dancefloors, Tempio Festival will present a vibrant array of performing arts, including experimental dance and theatre from Sala Nera (directed by Silvia Fontana), as well as showcases by Esenco Dance Movement, Dogma Theater, and emerging collectives.

Discourse and reflection will also be central to the experience, with talks and conferences featuring voices like Claudia Attimonelli (author of Techno. Ritmi Afrofuturisti), activist Eddi Marcucci (renowned for her work supporting Kurdish women), and Pierpaolo Farina, who will present his documentary on Enrico Berlinguer.

On the visual front, the festival will host the photography exhibition “Lègami, Legàmi” by Shyla Nicodemi, documenting Milan’s emerging sex-positive community, and a poetry section curated by Tommaso Dapri, founder of Tempio, who will preview his upcoming book Poesia Techno.

Rounding out the festival’s holistic approach are wellness and cultural offerings including yoga sessions, Ayurvedic massage, sustainable fashion, local crafts, Asian street food, and community-led projects in collaboration with Milan’s Chinatown.

Positioned as a rebellious, cultural counterpoint to the mainstream, Tempio Festival 2025 is set to be a four-day exploration of radical creativity, collective expression, and unfiltered connection.
