LA-based DJ and producer Jessica Skye has unveiled her second single, “Mindgames (Reimagined)”, now available via Platoon. This latest release serves as a preview of her forthcoming downtempo remix album, FluōState: Reimagined I, which is set to debut on Friday, January 17, 2025. The album revisits standout tracks from her previous works, FluōState 001 and FluōState 002, transforming them into intricately crafted, soothing reimaginations.
“Mindgames (Reimagined)” reinterprets the original club-oriented track into an ethereal soundscape, enriched by the mesmerizing addition of a sitar that broadens Jessica’s sonic horizons. This release follows the dreamy first single, “Turiya (Reimagined)”, a vocal-led piece that debuted last month.
Drawing inspiration from her practice as a yoga and meditation teacher, Jessica’s productions bridge electronic music and wellness, creating a calming resonance that encourages introspection. The FluōState: Reimagined I project reflects her deep passion for using music to nurture and hold space for others, offering a unique blend of relaxation and artistry.
Jessica cites her formative musical experiences and love for after-hours compilations like Back to Mine, Late Night Tales, and DJ Kicks as the foundation for this project. By blending elements of trip hop, acid jazz, and ambient sounds, she crafts a deeply personal and immersive listening experience.
Reimagined versions of her catalog breathe new life into standout tracks like “Virgo Rising”, which softens its percussive edges with Balearic-inspired pads and serene melodies, and “Moon in Aries”, which adopts a kosmiche tone with cosmic synths and mantra-like vocals. Tracks like “Enter Nyx”, a former Top Ten hit on Beatport’s Organic House chart, and “Mindgames” evolve into otherworldly compositions, with the latter incorporating the beguiling sitar to stunning effect.
