Acclaimed Italian duo Mathame have officially unleashed their highly-anticipated single Discovery Channel, a collaboration with Lyke via Casablanca Records and Republic Records. Fresh off their electrifying sets at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Mathame introduced this explosive track, which instantly became a crowd favorite. The single pays homage to Bloodhound Gang’s “The Bad Touch” with its nostalgic lyrical sample, creating a blend of emo-tech and infectious energy that showcases the duo’s bold vision.
Driven by a pulsating beat and hypnotic bassline, Discovery Channel submerges listeners in Mathame’s unique sonic landscape, where the familiar melody meets a darker, more emotive undercurrent. According to the duo, the track revisits an iconic piece from their youth, tapping into both humor and melancholy. “It was the golden age of MTV, and ‘The Bad Touch’ was one of the first music videos we ever saw,” they shared, describing the natural transformation of the track into a powerful, hypnotic staple in their sets.
Mathame, hailing from the volcanic landscape of Mount Etna, have built a reputation for their immersive, genre-blending creations. Known as sonic storytellers, their productions create journeys through sound, transcending the boundaries of conventional electronic music. The brothers’ debut album, MEMO, received critical acclaim, paving the way for major collaborations with the likes of Tiësto and John Summit, and earning a spot on Forbes’ 15 Best Albums list of 2023.
This year, Mathame returned to the global stage with a series of successful singles, including I Will Find You and Angel, and debuted their immersive residency NEO at Amnesia Ibiza. Their NEO World tour, launched at Brooklyn Mirage in early October, offers fans a 360-degree audiovisual experience centered around the nine-meter humanoid figure, NEO—a symbol of connection and unity.
Discovery Channel is available now on all major platforms, inviting fans to dive into Mathame’s world of nostalgic and innovative sounds.
