Riddim sensation Dack Janiels is teaming up with fast-rising dubstep producer GAWM on a new collab for Bassrush Records. ‘776′ is a wonky, hard-hitting dubstep track fusing their respective sounds across ominous melodic builds, trippy synth warbles, slabs of reverberating bass, and a distorted aesthetic flowing underneath the mix.

RIP Kenny – ‘Letting Go’

“I wrote this song [‘Letting Go‘] after the worst mountain bike crash of my life — breaking my femur, collar bone (clean in half), 7 ribs and puncturing a lung. Before the crash we were already in a pretty terrible situation financially (post-covid), then basically everything in our life started falling in on top of us. I just had this incredible guilt and pain emotionally, we were struggling and it was largely my fault. I think you can hear the pain and catharsis in the song, trying to sort out the acceptance piece of the whole situation. I was honestly apprehensive to be so personal with it, but writing it there were these moments that were so visceral. Ultimately I think the realness that came out of it both enhanced the story and made for a better record.”

RIP Kenny

Crooked Colours – ‘Light Year (Hermitude Remix)’

Legendary Hermitude has remixed Australian indie-electronic trio Crooked Colours’ latest single ‘Light Year‘. The original track featured RIAA Certified Platinum artist Masked Wolf and viral rap sensation Jasiah. Known for their widely popular remixes, Hermitude’s spin brings a completely new energy and interpretation of the genre-bending single.

The Spanish groove specialist is flexing his rhythmic sensibilities on a naughty tech house number for Insomniac, ‘Shake & Bounce’, an aptly titled single that wriggles itself through slick drums, buoyant basslines, a rattling lead, and a brazen vocal hook packing an unapologetic attitude.

THEMBA – ‘Reflections (Black Coffee Remix)’

Working his magic on one of the standout singles from THEMBA’s first artist album, Black Coffee flips ‘Reflections‘ and turns it into a version that’s easily just as captivating. Embellished with his signature mash of classical piano tones and gentle house beats, this brand-new interpretation can get a listener hooked in no time at all.

Kharfi – ‘Aquarium’

After some sneak-peek singles, Kharfi kicks off the new year with his long-awaited debut album ‘Aquarium‘. The producer has forged a twilight zone between genres, entwining the sedating undertow of trance with the penetrative bite of house. Alluding to his musical trajectory, ‘Aquarium’ is a candid display of passion.

Will Joseph Cook – ‘4AM’

“Conceptually ‘4AM‘ is this really overly poetic voicemail for someone you love. A rush of emotions you want to share but there’s no one up to hear them. I had initially written the verse as an acapella and then at home one night I built up the big instrumental chorus. It wasn’t until I was actually recording some new music in Mexico that the track fully came to life. I was literally wide awake at 4am sending voice notes and those feelings gave me the rest of the song. I recorded so many sounds of the city from my apartment window that night – they’re all buried under the instruments.”
