Bob Moses’ New Single The Blame Will Rattle Bones On The Dancefloor

by The Freaks - Staff

Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance, also known as Bob Moses, have graced us with the second single “The Blame” off their forthcoming album, ”Desire”. This moody single follows the release of the albums title track, “Desire”, where the duo teamed up with ZHU

“The Blame” is an emotional track that builds off of a hypnotic beat and Tom Howie’s powerful vocals. Both “The Blame” and “Desire” tie into a storyline that plays off the concept of the album as a whole. “Desire” is a love tale for the digital age: all about the positives and pitfalls of humanity’s driving wants, especially in these technology-driven times. “The Blame” is the realization of pain from actions taken in the heat of desire.”

Jimmy Vallance discussed the upcoming albums cover art and its significance with the records’ overall theme. “Desire can become quite destructive if you’re not self-aware. With this record, we’re trying to be self-aware by looking at our own desires and reckoning with them. Stories about desire are timeless: Icarus flying too close to the sun and ending up falling to his death…that idea inspired the falling man on the album cover. That symbolized to us how desire can lead to a downfall.”

Bob Moses shared a wickedly thought-provoking music video that came out with the release of “Desire” earlier this summer. The video was directed by Owen Brown via creative agency CTRL5 and is an interactive masterpiece. It allows the viewer to choose between pleasure or pain and see the contrast between the two at work. You have to watch it for yourself and choose the path you see fit.

If you’re as hooked on the two new singles as I am and longing for more, you’re in luck, the new record will drop on August 28th and will feature both “Desire” and “The Blame”. The six-track club concept record is meant to flow together and be listened to from start to finish. I look forward to tuning in, vibing out, and uncovering more of the story Bob Moses has to share.
