Somna – ‘Beside You’

“‘Beside You‘ are two simple words that speak volumes. When I set out to write this, I really wanted to capture the emotions and feelings that encompass trance music to me — the warmth of that beautiful melody at the right time. Transporting us to a moment in our lives where you can remember every little detail, the feelings, location and even the sights and smells. I remember, having moved across the world from Canada to the UK, travelling on the train between Bournemouth and Manchester on my own and feeling very alone. I would listen to a certain Oceanlab song and in that moment, everything would melt away and I felt peaceful. My sincere wish is that this album can be like a light in your darkest times and a constant companion that is always beside you.”

Armin van Buuren – ‘Make It Right (Trinix Remix)’

The first track to come off of Armin van Buuren’s RELAXED‘ album, the TRINIX of ‘Make It Right‘ is where floating vocals and soothing tones unite as one. A tender, masterfully composed rendition of the ‘Embrace‘ album single featuring Angel Taylor, this record will make you forget all about the hardships of the world, if only for a blissful moment.

Chicane – ‘Behind The Sun (2020 Anniversary Mixes)’

It’s easy to underestimate the importance of Chicane’s album, ‘Behind The Sun‘ — released in March 2000. Although perhaps overlooked, it is important for its ‘head above the sand’ moment for what was then, still an underground movement to some degree.

When the anniversary release was first mooted, it crossed everyone’s mind that these tracks were timeless and, and no less in demand for remixes. So, here is the original album remastered, coupled with remixes by an array of contemporary and legendary remixers. The sheer substance of the original tracks comes shining through in these mixes, the orchestral weaving the little pieces of ear candy, there is an embarrassment of melodies.

Tensteps – ‘Ecstasy’

Back on Andrew Rayel’s Inharmony imprint, label regular Tensteps pulls the line taut with his next banger to reel fans in. With an acid-infused bassline and surging melody fit for an anthem, ‘Ecstasy‘ is a high that will have dance music enthusiasts hooked in no time.

Fisherman – ‘Heartcore’

Drawing inspiration from the harder styles, Fisherman’sHeartcore‘ has all the hallmarks of a fully fledged anthem. With an epic build-up, colossal synths and enough power to  crack the dance floor, this record is set to pound sound systems to dust.

Maarten de Jong x Allen Watts – ‘Hatseflats’

The successor of late-night energy surge ‘Caffeine‘, ‘Hatseflats‘ sees Maarten de Jong and Allen Watts churn out their next joint effort of monstrous proportions. With acidized bass, scintillating synths and a melody that lifts listeners off of the ground, ‘Hatseflats’ is set to conquer the world not only as a standalone speaker-buster, but also as one of the most standout tracks on Armin van Buuren’sA State Of Trance 2020‘ mix album.

AVIRIA x Diana Miro – ‘The Worship’

“Sometimes a vocal just strikes you and you can’t control what comes out but it just does. That’s how ‘The Worship‘ came into existence. The inspiration I got from Diana Miro’s incredible vocal tones was immediate and the record grew from vocal demo to full track in a mere hour. That’s how magical music production can be.”

AVIRA

Maor Levi – ‘Arcadia’

A burst of color unlike any you’ve ever seen, ‘Arcadia‘ marks yet another slice of sonic paradise from Israeli tastemaker Maor Levi. With scintillating melodies and dreamy vocals atop a powerful foundation of beats and bass, this record spotlights all that’s good in Trance music today.

Morgan Page x Mark Sixma – ‘Our Song’

Opening with soft guitars, padded percussion, lush piano chords and an instantly infectious topline, ‘Our Song‘ brims with the kind of warm, radio-friendly, electro-pop vibes that make it the perfect gateway single into the summer season. The gradual, effortless progression into more dance floor-focused synth elements also gives the single the ability to move seamlessly from playlist selection to live sets — showing testament to both Morgan Page’s and Mark Sixma’s skills in the studio.

3 Are Legend – ‘Raver Dome’

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have a long running history with good friend Steve Aoki under their 3 Are Legend alias and the power trio combine once again for the huge ‘Raver Dome‘. The track centres around an instantly memorable melody, which is quickly joined by vast harmonics on the breakdown that help to establish a wall of musicality that fills the sonic space and provides a euphony that is both uplifting and guaranteed to get the party into full gear. The drop sees the introduction of a heavy, distorted kick that propels the track forward with added venom, ensuring that fans will be moving to the beat wherever they happen to be listening.

Tensnake – ‘Somebody Else’

It was Tensnake’s big reveal at the beginning of the year, a new forthcoming album entitled ‘L.A. Now he cements the release with the second single ‘Somebody Else‘, again showcasing his wide-ranging production abilities and further building on the influence he has received from recently living in the city of angels. It’s a track full of pop synths, sublime vocals and electric baselines. HART’s delicate vocals mesh perfectly with Bearson’s charged, melodic production. Emotions run high with this catchy track that will be stuck in your head for weeks.

When ‘Airy Met Fairy – ‘Esprit De Corps’

Translated literally from the French expression, ‘Esprit De Corps‘ means ‘spirit of the body’. It’s a concept of grandiose proportions and one that When ‘Airy Met Fairy relay with absolute artistic assurance. Brimming with subtle melody and minimalist instrumentation, their emotive melancholy excavates the foundations of our very being. Ebbing and flowing like a distant memory and simultaneously embodying all that makes us innately human.
