Find Yourself and Free Your Soul at Desert Hearts Festival 2020

by The Freaks - Staff

If you’ve embraced the tech-house lifestyle and learned to party with the best of them at Dirtybird Campout, but are still working towards the multiverse mania of Burning Man, the next stop the universe is guiding you toward on your journey is here. Desert Hearts Festival has announced its 2020 dates, returning to the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation in Southern California April 23-27.

Now in its eighth year, the flagship event of the Desert Hearts movement – which unites people through the healing combination of “House, Techno, & Love” – remains a singular kind of festival experience in the U.S. Following early arrival on Thursday, April 23, the music starts at noon April 24 and goes nonstop on the sole stage until Monday the 27th at 6 p.m., giving its remarkable collection of house and techno DJs two-hour sets apiece (with a few longer exceptions).

While Desert Hearts has expanded so rapidly that I feel like I have the chance to see the main crew and prominent players on the label nearly every month (either in my home of Denver or at one of the fests I’m attending), they retain their trademark intimate, extraordinary vibes everywhere. Their popularity has surged, but Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs and Porky have committed to keeping this festival at its tightly-knit, 5000-person cap and continuing at its treasure of a venue. That means you’ll want to buy your tickets as soon as they go on sale January 31, because they’ll sell out before you know it (especially the car camping passes).

The concept of time fades away at Desert Hearts Festival, as you dance at all hours, bond with self-actualized fellow attendees, explore the delightful community, engage in spiritual and grounding activities, and awaken something special within yourself. Start preparing your wardrobe now, because everyone’s outfits are stunningly on fleek, best exemplified in the festival’s renowned fashion show. In my wondrous adventure here last year, my soul felt blissfully full from the environment of virtually utopian vibes, so I eagerly await the opportunity to share such realization with a whole squad of friends and Desert Hearts Family this spring.
