The Elements FIRE! Party at the Turk’s Inn on Saturday, December 7th was lit! If you live anywhere near New York, I highly recommend getting your little butts up here for the next one because they don’t disappoint! With Sacha Robotti behind the decks debuting his new label, Slothacid, he turned the heat all the way up and had the whole place dripping in sweat and dope beats.
First, the Turk’s Inn is the perfect backdrop for Elements. The weirdness of the decor swallows you as you walk up the long hallway to get in. The crowd that Elements draws has this unique energy about them that totally embellishes and embodies the space. They’re a little bit mischievous, a little bit quirky, and a whole lot of fun.
After meeting up with my homegirl from Tokyo for drinks, I got to the Turk’s just before 1 A.M. and the party was already in full swing. Dirty Looks was on fire, bringing the main room up to speed with his funky, jacking brand of House music.
The Sultan Room is the event/nightclub space at the Turk’s and it’s dope. The way it’s designed makes it feel like a bar in Star Trek or the Jetsons. The vibe is very Mid-Century Modern meets retro-futuristic. Think clean lines and lots of curves. It was really inviting and once I got in, it was hard to get out.
Sacha Robotti got on the decks at 1 A.M. and I’m not gonna lie, it’s been a little bit since I danced so much with no breaks, but I just couldn’t leave. I couldn’t. It was pretty much me and him in the booth for his whole set and every song he played was the song I didn’t know I wanted to hear. It was SO GOOD!
He loaded his set up with sick original tracks like “Generator” and insane remixes like his rework of Cardi B’s “Money”, and I danced my ass off… the kind of dancing where you have to stretch after.
The crazy thing is that I was battling bronchitis and I think I just needed to dance all the funk out of my bod and break my fever in that inferno and that’s exactly what happened! I did take a couple of breaks surrounding Sacha’s set and the whole venue beyond the pulsating heat radiating from the Sultan Room was dope af too.
The restaurant dining room and bar were transformed into a lounge where DJs Bobby Ishak, Havony, and Kris Lee kept the vibes fresh and funky all night. Then they had a heated rooftop patio for smokers which was a nice change for New York. Usually, I see everyone check their coats then they freeze to death going in and out to smoke all night! Finally, someone thought of a heater!
I mean, the name of the party was FIRE!
Adding to all this madness was my ever-growing New York rave fam. I tend to roll solo and find all my people wherever I go, so it’s nice to have a budding little family out here that I know I can run into and TURN UP with! These guys are the most fun, unique, fuckin CUTE bunch of people I have ever known and I love them all already! YOU know who you are!
