Lane 8 is Ready to Shine | Brightest Lights Tour

by The Freaks - Staff

Get ready to get emotional- Lane 8 is going on tour.

Hailing from San Francisco and the highly popular Anjunadeep label, Deep House DJ Lane 8 is known for his signature melodic and driving sound. From the release of the transcendentally powerful track “Fingerprint”, to the creation of the “This Never Happened” movement and label that encourages concert-goers to ditch their phones, Lane 8 has an uncanny ability to connect with and create an impact upon his fans, truly uniting them through the music. And fans will have plenty to be happy about when looking at the astonishing scope of his upcoming Brightest Lights tour.

Embarking on a massive tour spanning 31 cities across six countries, the Brightest Lights tour is named for Lane 8’s upcoming third studio album, which is set for release on January 10th, 2020. Lane 8 treated his fans back in September by releasing the lead single and title track off of the album, “Brightest Lights”. “Brightest Lights” is a continuation of his signature melodic sound, with the addition of ethereal vocals from singer POLIÇA.

Lane 8 uses his typical minimalistic approach with the components of the track; The bassline thumps without being heavy, and the kick drum/hi-hat combo works together to not just enhance the vocals but to create harmony with every aspect of the song. It’s extremely balanced and infinitely soothing, what my friends and I would call a “Comedown Song”, i.e. the perfect track for the drive home from a night out. Not to mention the wonderfully sweet lyrics; with the chorus proclaiming “We’re the brightest light/ Stars will gather round/ Just to be with you/ Love’s the loudest sound”, the track will no doubt become a seminal love song for raving couples.

With so many stops, it’s clear that the Brightest Lights tour is a representation of Lane 8’s love for both his fans and his music- and I’ll be so excited to see him on March 20th at Rebel in Toronto. And don’t worry- my phone will be off.

The Brightest Lights Tour kicks off January 31st at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, which is already sold out. From there he travels through the United States and Canada, hitting places such as Texas, Oregon, Florida, Colorado, British Columbia, and Ontario. But that barely scratches the surface of the North American portion of the tour- be sure to check out if your city is on the list.  After North America, Lane 8 heads off to Europe, making stops in Germany, the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, before wrapping it up, nearly five months later, on June 5th at the Brooklyn Mirage in New York.
