Not So Silent Night | Alternative Music Slaps NYC in the FACE!

Not So Silent Night Alternative Music Festival is in its 30th year and this sold-out run includes an event in New York City on December 5, 2019. The line up features Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend, Cage the Elephant, Jimmy Eat World, Of Monsters and Men, Judah & the Lion and SHAED.

Mumford & Sons are on tour after releasing their highly successful album “Delta” in 2018. Having the best selling rock album of the decade, Mumford & Sons won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year for “Babel” in 2012 which includes their incredibly inspiring single “I Will Wait”.  

New York rock band Vampire Weekend, also Grammy winners for Best Alternative Album in 2014, have been nominated again for 2020 for “Father of the Bride”, their fourth studio album. Their 2020 Grammy nominations include Album of the Year, Best Alternative Album and Best Rock Song for “Harmony Hall”.

Cage the Elephant’s single “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” exhibits their ability to appeal to many audiences. Their album “Social Cues” has been nominated for Best Rock Album of the Year for the 62^nd Annual Grammy Awards.

Having just released their tenth album “Surviving”, Jimmy Eat World continues their commercial success with four of their previous singles charting the top twenty positions of the alternative songs charts. Selling over one and a half million records their influence in the genre is undeniable.

The Icelandic group Of Monsters and Men found success with their hit “Little Talks” and released their third album “Alligator” in 2019. Judah & the Lion’s new album “Pep Talks” released in 2019 introduced elements of relationships and recovery with their genre-blending style. Indie pop group SHAED, known for their breakthrough single “Trampoline” will also be performing.

Since 1991, the Not So Silent Night Music Festival has been held in three cities and featured some of the biggest names in alternative music. This highly anticipated show will be held in New York, San Francisco, and San Diego. This will be one of the best nights of alternative music this fall in NYC.
