Not only did we get to party with ARTY, but we got to do so on a boat! As we sailed along the Hudson River, EDM fans were blessed with an array of different sounds across the genre.
Armada did what they do best and brought along a lineup that rocked the boat. With ARTY as the captain, Zack Martino also at the helm and Mike Saint-Jules supporting as well — this night was one to remember. If I could do it all over again, I’d be climbing right back aboard that boat in a heartbeat and I’m sure all the other guests would’ve followed suit.
Being the last boat party of the year, The Infinity Hornblower Yacht had to go out with a bang! Mike Saint-Jules was the perfect choice to start the night, playing progressive house and old-school trance records that lifted the crowds spirits, priming them for a night on the dance floor.
Zack Martino got behind the decks next and blew the crowd away with his varying sounds ranging from house to big room to electro. I’m surprised the boat didn’t tip over from how much jumping was going on in the crowd. The energy was definitely there and they just wanted more and more.
Finally, the moment we were all waiting for — ARTY! I’ll be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve seen him perform live and boy am I glad I was there to witness this set. He blew my mind and surely everyone else’s with beloved tracks, new and old. He brought back memories of when I started going to shows back in 2012 with tracks like ‘Language’ by Porter Robinson. And of course he tore up the dance floor with his newest record, ‘Find You’. Though I really rode the feels train when he dropped ‘Tim’ — his tribute to Avicii (Tim Bergling).
What a night, I wish someone could #takemeback.
