Amsterdam Dance Event | Trance Family, These Are The Shows You Need To Know

In less than two months, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) 2019 will be upon us. This is the time of the year that everybody (and I mean everybody) from the dance music scene will be out and about. From trance and techno to dubstep and drum n’ bass, from up-and-coming talent to world-class veterans, from dark and dirty underground events to stadium-sized shows, ADE has it all — so it’s no wonder this massive event attracts dance music artists and audiences alike from every corner of the globe. 

Personally, my favorite thing about ADE is how well the trance scene is represented. Yes, trance fam — THIS IS A SHOUT TO ALL OF YOU! Open up your ears (or eyes for this instance) because this is the “Need-To-Know Shows” guide to ADE for all the dreamers out there. Whether you’re a trance elitist or someone that dabbles in big-room trance, you’ll find a show that will suit your scene. Without further ado, here is the list I’ve compiled of trance events that are going on during Amsterdam Dance Event 2019. 

Wednesday, October 16th:

Orjan Nilsen and Friends (Album Release Party)

In anticipation of his upcoming album (‘The Devil Is In The Details’), Orjan Nilsen is throwing his own special party with eleven of his best friends! Rodg and Mark Sixma have been announced as the first two artists to join Orjan on this star-studded lineup, so keep your eyes on this space for updates on who else will be joining us at Club Mystique from 22:00-5:00. 

Dreamstate presents Menno Solo

As one of the strongest forces in trance, Menno de Jong will be taking to the stage at WesterUnie for a seven hour set. From 22:00-5:00, you’ll be transported to another dimension where trance is your only destination. Doors open at 21:00, so get there early to be sure not to miss a second of what’s sure to be a trance-filled adventure.

Thursday, October 17th:

Luminosity presents Paul van Dyk

Luminosity is back in action at Panama with Paul van Dyk again this year! If it’s anything like last year’s event, you’re not going to want to miss this one. With the legend, PVD at the helm and several other notable trance artists to take control of the decks throughout the night, this is one of the most anticipated events of ADE. Put your dancing shoes on though because you’ll be on the dancefloor from 21:00-7:00!

Rave Culture

Get ready to enter an interactive underground world with futuristic vibes. Everyone is welcome to this party filled with a collection of artists ranging from big room to hardstyle to trance. With the party raging on from 22:00-6:00, the night will be filled with special guests and unique elements. Everyone is invited to join in and celebrate Rave Culture with an unforgettable night at Q-Factory

Friday, October 18th:

Solarstone presents Pure Trance

Trance unites us all, so what better way to celebrate than to unite us all onto a boat that will set sail on the Amstel for a night of musical synergy. Solarstone and Orkidea are the captains of this trance fueled ship and this party will surely make waves just like our two captains have done in the trance scene. Meet us at the Docks 1 Boat behind Centraal Station no later than 23:00 (boarding begins at 22:00) and be prepared to experience a purely feel-good atmosphere aboard the boat until 5:00.

Markus Schulz Open to Close

For the fourth year in a row, the Unicorn Slayer himself, Markus Schulz is back at Melkweg for his special Open to Close set. Magic happens from beginning to end at this event. Markus is one of very few artists that has the skill set to captivate a crowd from start to finish, so be ready for a night of progressive, trance and techno coming from the hands of the master at work from 23:00-6:00. 

Saturday, October 19th:

UV All Boat Long

Start your Saturday off right with the best underground house and progressive sounds presented to you by UV’s own Paul Thomas and Aly & Fila. What more could you ask for? Great music and great company on a boat! Join us no later than 14:30 (boarding starts at 14:00) behind the Centraal Station at Pier 14 for five hours of fun (event ends at 19:00) while floating down the IJ River. 

Sander van Doorn presents Purple Haze

The Dutch dance music titan, Sander van Doorn is back at Melkweg this year with his trance alias, Purple Haze. With details still under wraps, all we can say is that this night promises to be a mind-blowing audiovisual experience from the start at 19:00 until the bitter end at 22:00. Prepare for an event unlike anything that Sander has brought to Europe before.

Luminosity presents This Is Trance!

Ok guys. This is the one you’ve all been waiting for. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many artists of this caliber on one single ADE event lineup in my entire life. I’m just gonna drop the names and let you drool over the talent that Luminosity is bringing to Panama for This Is Trance! The names are listed alphabetically: Aly & Fila, Andy Moor, Bryan Kearney, DIM3NSION, Ferry Corsten, Giuseppe Ottaviani, John O’Callaghan, Mark Sherry, Robert Nickson and Standerwick. Also with support from Alex Wright, Exolight, Kaimo K and Nikolauss. Pick your jaws up off the floor and get ready to party from 21:00-7:00 and close your ADE out with a bang. 

Black Hole Recordings presents Voyage

Set sail on Black Hole Recordings’ floating club for a musical journey headlined by none less than Cosmic Gate, with support from a carefully handpicked selection of the label’s current artists; Richard Durand, Sied van Riel and ReOrder. Hop on board the music blasting boat at the Dock 1 behind Centraal Station no later than 23:00 (boarding begins at 22:00) and be prepared to dance on the decks until 4:00.
