Five Must-See Artists at Lost Lands or Live in Regret

by The Freaks - Staff

Listen, the headliners for Lost Lands 2019 are absolutely jaw-dropping per usual… But let’s discuss some up and comers/low-key creators that deserve more turning heads. Excision does an amazing job at bringing in talent both large and small…

The best thing about all of these dubstep artists is their variation in sound despite being in the same genre. Some people’s perception of dubstep is that it all sounds the same, and I’m here to prove this wrong.

I would have no problem standing at any Lost Lands stage where I don’t know a single artist – I’m guaranteed to have an amazing fucking time. So, let’s touch on some and take a cruise through their Spotify’s.

1.Calcium

Since his last EP “Skull Vault,” Calcium has been trickling out some rowdy singles such as “DAMN SON,” “Flexin,” and most recently “ALIEN TECH…” My personal favorite? “Crusher,” a true throw-down with some build ups that make my 5’3 self wanna hop in a mosh.  His creepy dubstep just landed him at EDC, maybe all these singles are hinting towards a new EP for Lost Lands?… I’ll certainly be at his ground-stomping set. Check it out.

2.The Widdler

The Widdler is known as a good one to flow to. With some native, smoother electronic noise, you can take a break from the headbanging and get a little weird to his aboriginal, slow wub sound. You’re gonna want some poi for this one.

3.Shlump

If you’re a fan of Space Jesus, this dude is gonna rock your socks off. With some wonky sounds comparable to our good friends in the Space Bass realm, Shlump has been known to throw some badass sets with some equally badass artists. While not as renowned as some of our Wakaan-like fam might be, he’s getting some opportunity to show what he’s got. Check some of this out.

4.Svdden Death

You might know him for “Behemoth,” a single that gets thrown into every artist’s mix because it deserves to be. His crowd is ready to break necks and he gets wild on stage. This is that angry dubstep that causes an entire crowd mosh pit. If you’re looking for more dudes like Excision or Sullivan King, he is right up your alley. Enjoy.

5.Midnight Tyrannosaurus

Midnight Tyrannasorous, also known as Midnight T, is a true up and comer. I personally hadn’t heard his name until a month or so ago, and he deserves the rising recognition. With heavy bass songs such as his hit single, “Mutation,” I’d lean to say his bass is borderline angrier than Excisions. This is a B2B us Lost Lands fam would die over… Literally. The crowd would not survive the frenzy.

Only 18 more weeks until the Dinosaurs come to life, who will I see?
