Camp Bisco Does it Again! | Bassnectar, Tipper, and Space Jesus Return to Montage Mountain

by The Freaks - Staff

Sweet baby Space JesusCamp Bisco, which always has boasted extremely competitive lineups in the past, has really outdone itself this year!  The festival, which derives its name from The Disco Biscuits,  will go down from July 18-20 over on Montage Mountain, just outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Fun fact; Camp Bisco 2017 was actually the first camping festival I ever attended, and it most definitely changed my life for the better.  I have many fond memories of that weekend, despite the fact that I was woefully under prepared for the trials of camping on that mountain.  I resolved to return to Camp Bisco every subsequent year that I could, and I had already purchased my ticket for 2019 long before this absolute unit of a lineup was thrown to fans!

You will not be shocked to see that the man, myth and legend Bassnectar will be returning for his 11th consecutive year at Camp Bisco.   I was, however, a bit surprised (and very excited) to see that Dave Tipper will be bringing his eclectic style back to Montage this year following a breathtaking performance there in 2018.

As a huge fan of Space Jesus, it is great to see that he is finally getting some of the recognition he deserves being named as a first tier headliner.  My first time catching a Jeezy set was at the Above the Waves stage at Camp Bisco 2017, and I haven’t looked back since.  The debate is open as to who the “and friends” will be, but it is safe to assume that it will be some of the other Wakaan co-conspirators who are also on the lineup (looking at you Yheti and Minnesota).

While the headliners don’t leave much to be desired, the further downballot acts are just as exciting for me.  In particular, I’m pumped to have another couple chances to see Mr. Bill, who will be playing a solo set AND a b2b with ill.Gates.  This year will also be my first opportunity to see UK dubstep legend Rusko live.

As we move to the bottom of the lineup, I am just blown away by how many extremely talented acts were booked. Usually, this is where I know one or two names and the rest are negligible.  Not this year.  This lineup is so deep that Mersiv and a Slugwife Takeover somehow find themselves at the bottom. Additionally, look out for Jaenga, a New York based producer who is poised to have a breakthrough year.

Well, if you couldn’t tell, I am REALLY excited about this one, and you should be too!  See you on the mountain everybody!
