New Year’s Eve 2019 with Gareth Emery and John Digweed | Output Nightclub Says Goodbye

A Little Rain Didn’t Stop Us!

It was a cold and rainy night in Brooklyn but that wasn’t going to hold us back from our New Year’s Eve adventure! First stop of the night was ringing in the New Year with some trance, an open to close set with Gareth Emery at the Brooklyn Hangar! Gareth’s seven-hour set was the longest he’s ever played, and he played his heart out! We arrived around 10:30 and the venue was already filling up and the crowd was ready to celebrate! By the time midnight rolled around the venue was PACKED! The New Year rang in with a Gareth classic “Saving Light” and it was timed superbly! An incredible moment indeed! .

Gareth was good but we had other places to go!

We stayed for another hour or so and then made our way to the second stop of the night the final show at Brooklyn’s Infamous Nightclub Output. The Legend John Digweed was gracing everyone with an outstanding ten-hour set! The rain was finally letting up as we made our way into Output and the club was packed and the vibes were intense.

You could tell this was going to be a special show! I’ve been following Digweed since the 90s and this was by far the deepest and most dramatic set I’ve heard! It was well after two am and he took us frenzied music lovers on a journey… one we will never forget! With this being my first time at Output, I didn’t know what to expect.

My expectations were high, and they were extremely exceeded. I couldn’t think of a more perfect artist to experience the intoxicating final show of this legendary venue. The labyrinth of rooms was just what I’d anticipated from a club who made a name for itself as being dark and underground. The Panther room with the Risky Business Crew provided just as much of a bangin’ party as the main room. The energy the Risky Business Crew brought was heavy and gave the devotees an escape from the crowded main room but not an escape from the action!

As we made our way to the rooftop patio the clouds lifted just enough to see the New York skyline in the distance. The rooftop patio gave us the opportunity to take in the scenery of the fresh morning, making its way to close the night.

To say this was a night to remember would be an understatement. This was New Year’s Eve and we did it up BIG! I don’t know if I will be able to outdo NYE 2019, but I will sure as hell try (already thinking of travel destinations)!
