The most wonderful time of the year is almost here. And by that, we mean that Holy Ship! is almost ready to set sail! This year is going to be absolutely off the dock. The lineup is madness, the parties are planned, and the themes are set. Every moment on the ship this year will be unforgettable, but most of all, we are pumped for the music. Here is a little highlight reel of the top three sets we are most excited to witness.
First and foremost, Skream. You may also know of him from the group Magnetic Man. In the real world, this legend goes by Oliver Dene Jones. This English producer influenced the dubstep scene with tracks like “Midnight Request Line,” “Stagger,” “Where You Should Be,” and many, many more. His 2007 Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 changed the face of music and is known as one of the greatest dubstep mixes of all time. Skream is a treat that we do not often get, and you can bet that his set will be one to write home about.
Of course, we cannot miss our beloved “Space Mom,” REZZ. This little alien lady, known as Isabelle Rezazadeh on her home planet, makes a crash landing to Earth again for a special Holy Ship! performance and we have no doubt that she may very well be the best show of the entire event. With visuals courtesy of her talented VJ partner Cam MacNeill, her captivating, hypnotic performance has been selling out venues all over the world. Her most recent tour, Certain Kind of Magic, just came to an end, so we are ready to see what Rezz has in store for us on the Ship now. Check out “Nightmare on Rezz Street” for a taste of the sounds and views her and Cam have to offer.
Trouble certainly comes in threes, and that is totally true for the trio that is Gud Vibrations, made up of SLANDER (Derek Andersen and Scott Lands) and NGHTMRE (Tyler Marenyi). This collaborative effort has recently announced their new record label with that of the same name. It began as simply a radio show, then even found traction as a tour with over 30 stops. And if you still aren’t sold on that, just give the song “Gud Vibrations” a listen yourself!
So Freaks, join us for this oceanic adventure. Holy Ship! is the sailing of a lifetime, and this year is shaping to be the best sail yet. We know you will be partying with your favorite DJs and best friends, but whatever you do on the Ship, do not miss these top three!
