Cameroonian-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Astrønne announces her new EP, 123, arriving November 19 via StrataSonic Records. Alongside the announcement, she shares the project’s first single, “1 2,” introducing a deeply personal body of work centered on self-determination, empathy, and the transformative power of love.
Across 123, Astrønne explores the relationship between personal growth and collective responsibility, tracing a journey from recognizing one’s own worth to acknowledging the humanity of others. Where “1 2” expresses a desire for independence and self-determination, “2 3” confronts the isolation, regret, and perceived failure that can stand in the way.
Originally conceived as an Instagram post encouraging people to seek support, “2 3” gradually developed into a more expansive reflection on shared grief and shame. Its ambient opening establishes an introspective atmosphere before the song reframes mistakes as opportunities for learning and redirection. Rather than treating life’s burdens as something to carry alone, Astrønne emphasizes the importance of facing them together.
The EP’s closing track, “L6VE (PROPAGANDA),” extends this message into a broader call for resistance. Drawing inspiration from James Baldwin’s ideas about empathy and moral responsibility, Astrønne considers love a force capable of confronting dehumanization, exploitation, and abuses of power. The track brings the EP’s central themes into sharper focus, connecting individual self-actualization with the responsibility to recognize and protect the humanity of others.
“TRUTH HURTS, TRUTH SAVES, LOVE HEALS,” says Astrønne. “123 EP is an introduction to this theory of mine.” She describes the project as “the ‘ready steady go’ of my redefinitions and self-actualization as an artist and human being.”
Splitting her time between Paris and London, Astrønne draws from experimental R&B, folk, hip-hop, glitch, and sound therapy. Her musical journey began with the harp during childhood before she taught herself additional instruments, including guitar and piano. Singing in English, French, and Spanish, she combines an eclectic musical foundation with songwriting that explores love, identity, and resistance.
With 123, Astrønne presents her most personal project to date and her clearest artistic statement yet. The EP follows her French- and Spanish-language double single Siempre : Toujours and her interpretation of Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer,” released through BBE Music and featured on its Naive Melodies tribute compilation. Her earlier work on Blue Phases includes “Femme du Crépuscule,” which achieved Gold certification in France.

Beyond music, Astrønne has developed connections across fashion and contemporary art. She performed for Louis Vuitton at Coming of Age, the 2022 festival honoring Virgil Abloh, and contributed to the soundtrack for Off-White’s 2025 runway collection. In 2024, she performed at Centre Pompidou during the Paris Olympic Games.
Looking ahead, Astrønne is scheduled to tour in April 2027. Her live experience includes headline performances in Paris, Amsterdam, Belgium, and Switzerland, as well as a French theatre tour supporting Keziah Jones, featuring two sold-out shows at La Seine Musicale. She has also appeared at Brick Lane Jazz Festival and Le Guess Who?.
With 123, Astrønne brings together personal reflection, musical experimentation, and a broader vision of compassion and resistance, establishing a new chapter in her evolving artistic journey.
