Spriitzz Teams Up With Confidence Man for Euphoric New Trance Single ‘Higher’

Irish producer Spriitzz has joined forces with Australian synthpop group Confidence Man for “Higher,” a new collaboration released via HARD Recs. Blending uplifting trance production with the group’s playful vocal style, the single brings together dreamy melodies, energetic synths, and a feel-good sound built for the dancefloor.

At the center of the collaboration is Spriitzz, the electronic music project of Tiarnan McMorrow, an Irish DJ, producer, and mixing engineer originally from Sligo. Now based in Glasgow after spending a decade in Berlin, McMorrow also releases music under the name Spray, with each project exploring a different side of his musical interests. While Spray draws from classic progressive sounds, breaks, hard house, and psychedelic rave, Spriitzz takes a more melodic approach, leaning into dreamy, Ibiza-inspired sounds suited to sunset sessions.

For “Higher,” that atmosphere meets the unmistakable personality of Confidence Man. Formed in Brisbane and now based in the UK, the group has built a reputation as a standout live act, pairing retro synthpop, house, disco, and indie electronic influences with theatrical performances, elaborate outfit changes, and campy choreography.

The track brings those contrasting styles together through bright, feel-good production and the vocals of Confidence Man members Janet Planet and Sugar Bones. Dramatic strings, hazy synths, sparkling electronic textures, and warm piano chords give the record its euphoric foundation, while the duo’s carefree delivery adds a playful edge.

“I’ve been a fan of Confidence Man for a long time, they scratch an itch for me that I cant find anywhere else. ‘Higher’ was the first idea we started when we got in the studio. Their hype energy dovetails perfectly with some balearic hi-energy house – we had such a buzz in the studio and ‘Higher’ has been such a big moment in my live sets,” Spriitzz explains.

The collaboration builds on an existing creative connection between the artists. Spriitzz previously reworked Confidence Man tracks “Chez Moi” and “Who Knows What You’ll Find?” over the past year, alongside remixes for Luuk van Dijk, Qrion, and Regularfantasy. His recent releases have received radio support from Triple J, NPO, Radio Bondi, and Blast 106.

In October, he also joined forces with DJ HEARTSTRING on “Sentimental Ultra,” the title track from their debut album. The release earned support from Arielle Free, Danny Howard, Charlie Tee, Charlie Hedges, and TCTS, with additional mixshow plays from John Summit and Tiësto.

Meanwhile, Confidence Man continue to build on an impressive run of live performances and industry recognition. The group was named Best Live Act at the 2024 Rolling Stone UK Awards, won the Best Independent Dance / Electronica Album category at the 2019 AIR Awards, and has received multiple ARIA nominations for Best Dance / Electronic Release. Their recent appearances include HARD Summer, EDC Las Vegas, Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, and Hï Ibiza. Upcoming performances include supporting Sammy Virji at Red Rocks and a headline showcase for their “Active Scenes” club night at The Cause London.

“We couldn’t wait to work with Spriitzz and when he opened up his laptop we knew we’d struck gold. It was like an ice cold drink and a hot cigarette coming together in a sweaty club. We knew what we had to do so we made you this instant classic,” Confidence Man shares.

With “Higher,” Spriitzz and Confidence Man bring their respective approaches together for a collaboration that balances uplifting trance melodies with the vibrant energy of synthpop. The result is a lively meeting of sounds that feels equally at home in a sunset set or a packed club.
