Los Angeles-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, and classically trained musician Martron returns with Drive, a seven-track EP released October 27 that explores a more energetic, heavier, and darker side of his sound. Following recognition from UKF, Roland, and GQ, along with a feature in Apple’s “Shot on iPhone” campaign, Martron continues to push his creative boundaries while exploring what comes after self-discovery: finding motivation, improving your craft, and discovering what you’re truly capable of.
Moving between UK garage, melodic bass, dubstep, progressive bass, and techno, Drive balances club-ready energy and heavy low-end with intricate melodies and unexpected instrumental textures. Rather than settling into one genre, Martron allows each track to develop its own identity while maintaining a cohesive sound throughout the project.
The EP opens with “Bang!”, a bass-heavy introduction built around driving UK garage rhythms and infectious momentum. “Save You” follows with a more melodic approach, pairing melodic bass with glitched-out flute harmonies and atmospheric details that add depth to its heavier foundation.
On “IMA,” Martron takes a more experimental route. The track begins with glitchy dubstep before shifting midway into a progressive fusion of bass and techno. Dubstep rhythms eventually return, creating one of the EP’s most dynamic moments and highlighting his ability to move between contrasting styles without losing the track’s sense of direction.
Previously released single “Hit The Road,” featuring Tauklo, brings an indie-electronic edge to the EP. Driven by infectious melodies and drum & bass-inspired rhythms, the track centers on taking risks, stepping on the gas, and moving forward despite whatever obstacles stand in the way. The collaboration also reflects a long-standing creative relationship. Martron and Tauklo have worked together for more than a decade, with Martron producing numerous records for the artist. Despite their history, “Hit The Road” marks only their second officially released collaboration credited to both artists.
The project shifts toward a warmer, more emotional atmosphere with “There For You,” a melodic bass anthem that offers a change of pace. That softer moment gives way to “Pushin,” which ramps up the intensity through a frenetic combination of UK garage and bass, driven by increasingly restless tempos.

Closing the EP, “DIP” serves as the focus track of Drive. Roaring bass and propulsive UK garage rhythms make it one of the project’s heaviest cuts, bringing the collection to a forceful conclusion that reflects its central theme of testing limits and pushing forward.
The creative process behind Drive marked a departure from Martron’s previous EP, Passion. Unsure of where to take his sound next, he eventually stopped overthinking the direction and focused on the elements of his artistry that excited him most. The seven tracks came together organically over roughly three months, giving him room to experiment with darker, more energetic production while developing a stronger sense of cohesion.
With Drive, Martron embraces the freedom to explore new territory without losing sight of the musical details that define his work. The result is a project that moves between melodic passages and heavier club sounds, reflecting an artist willing to challenge himself and discover just how far his sound can go.
