Indonesian producer OOTORO returns to NIGHTMODE with CULT CHROME II, a five-track EP that continues his exploration of new sounds and textures beyond his existing catalog. Drawing from a wide range of underground club influences, the project pushes further into the space between bass music, trap, and global dance sounds.
Based in Jakarta, OOTORO has built his sound around underground club culture and a willingness to move beyond conventional genre boundaries. His productions draw from house, bass, UK garage, dubstep, disco, and regional club sounds, giving CULT CHROME II room to shift between styles while maintaining a strong dancefloor focus.
The EP opens with “SHAKEUP,” combining deep bass with trap-inspired beats, dancehall-influenced vocals, and sharp synth work. “CHANEL” follows with thick, warped bass and an upbeat, punchy drum pattern that gives the track a direct club-ready feel. On “MOVELIKEUS,” global influences and unusual textures gradually build toward a bouncy drop, while “MY MIND” centers on a lively drum line and a pitch-bending lead synth that gives the production its distinctive character.
The closing track, “Chainsaw,” brings OOTORO together with French producer Basstrick for a harder-edged take on trap and bass. Playful Japanese vocal loops cut through heavy 808 drums, sharp synths, and eerie textures, creating an industrial atmosphere that builds tension around a bouncy club groove. Known for exploring the boundaries of trap and bass music, Basstrick adds another dimension to the EP’s closing statement.
The project’s lead singles, “SHAKEUP,” “CHANEL,” and “MY MIND,” have already received live and mixshow support from artists including Zeds Dead, Machine Drum, deadmau5, Darby, Alison Wonderland, Asdek, LUMBERJVCK, Siberian Express, and Duckstworthsound.

Beyond the release, OOTORO has upcoming performances in China at Sounding and XLab. Meanwhile, Basstrick continues to build his international profile with appearances at Lollapalooza Paris and Rampage Open Air, alongside support from artists including DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers, Yellow Claw, Habstrakt, and SLANDER.
With CULT CHROME II, OOTORO continues to explore the possibilities of underground club music through shifting rhythms, heavy low-end production, and influences that reach beyond a single genre. The five-track release expands on the direction of his previous project while reinforcing his approach to experimentation and dancefloor-focused sound design.
