Italian electronic duo Mathame are opening a new chapter in their audiovisual universe with the launch of NEO Records, a label designed to expand their boundary-pushing approach to electronic music, technology, and immersive storytelling. Comprised of brothers Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli, the duo will introduce the label alongside their new single, “Oh Baby,” arriving October 23, 2026.
To celebrate the launch, Mathame will host a Mathame & Friends pop-up event at The Butcher Social Club during Amsterdam Dance Event, coinciding with the single’s release. The event brings the duo’s latest creative chapter into a live setting as they continue developing the world surrounding their music.
Known for pioneering their own distinctive strain of EmoTech, Mathame have built a sound that combines emotionally charged melodies, cinematic sound design, and futuristic production. Their artistic vision extends beyond conventional club music, connecting their releases with larger concepts built around visual storytelling and immersive experiences. With NEO Records, the brothers are creating a dedicated platform for music that reflects this forward-thinking identity.
The label builds on the foundations of NEO, a larger artistic universe introduced through their debut album MEMO. That world has continued to expand through NEOLOGY, a parallel audiovisual show featuring a nonlinear, anime-inspired film that unfolds throughout their live performances. Together, these projects unite music, technology, and narrative into a connected experience exploring the relationship between the sacred, the futuristic, and the emotional.
The new single “Oh Baby” introduces the next phase of that vision through a darker, more brooding sound. Driven by raw techno energy and deeper sonic textures, the track develops an intense atmosphere that remains rooted in Mathame’s signature style. Its release marks the beginning of a new chapter for the duo as they continue expanding the NEO universe across recorded music and live performance.
The single follows “Follow,” their July 2026 collaboration with Bonn, which received support from DJ Mag, Rolling Stone France, Billboard, and Anghami, alongside placements on major international editorial playlists. The release added to the duo’s growing presence across the global electronic music landscape.
Over the course of their career, Mathame have performed at some of electronic music’s most prominent festivals and venues, including Tomorrowland, Coachella, Ultra Miami, EDC, Sziget, UNVRS Ibiza, and Hï Ibiza. Their work has also explored the intersection of music and emerging technology. Old Neural Mixtape Vol.1, an AI-powered project created for Apple’s M1 chip, later evolved into an innovative 3D live show, further demonstrating the brothers’ interest in expanding how electronic music can be experienced.
Their audience continues to grow, with Mathame reaching 1.5 million monthly listeners, more than 100 million lifetime streams, and 40 million YouTube views. Their achievements also include a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix of the Year, reflecting the recognition their music has earned within the wider electronic music community.
With NEO Records, Mathame are establishing a new foundation for their evolving artistic vision. The label provides an opportunity to explore fresh musical directions while continuing to connect sound, technology, and immersive storytelling. Paired with “Oh Baby” and the Mathame & Friends event at Amsterdam Dance Event, the launch signals the next stage in the brothers’ ongoing effort to push electronic music beyond the dancefloor.
