Bassvictim Announces New Album PEACE + WAR With New Single “White Flag”

Electronic duo Bassvictim have announced their new album, PEACE + WAR, arriving November 6, alongside the release of their latest single, “White Flag.” The track finds the duo leaning further into their club-focused instincts, pairing hushed vocals with blown-out electronic textures in a production built to push their abrasive sound toward the dancefloor.

Opening with vocalist Maria Manow’s restrained delivery, “White Flag” gradually erupts into a rush of distorted textures and forceful electronic production. The track captures the duo’s ability to balance warped pop sensibilities with the intensity of club music, shifting from intimate moments into a more chaotic sonic landscape.

Across 19 tracks, PEACE + WAR expands on the sound that has defined Bassvictim, bringing together biting distortion, bruising electronic production, and mangled, playful vocals. The album finds Manow and producer Ike Clateman taking a more self-observant approach while allowing moments of genuine tenderness to emerge amid the volatility. Whispers cut through abrasive sound design as the duo moves between vulnerability, provocation, and unexpected humor.

That contrast remains central to Bassvictim’s identity. Their music thrives on the tension between opposing moods, blending deliberately rough electronic textures with unconventional pop instincts. On PEACE + WAR, those elements continue to collide, creating space for both emotional openness and unpredictable experimentation. “White Flag” offers an early look at that approach, emphasizing the pair’s clubbier side without abandoning the distortion and warped sensibilities that set their music apart.

The album announcement arrives as Bassvictim continue their headline White Flag North American Tour. The run began on the West Coast, with stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland, before continuing through Austin and Miami. Upcoming dates include Chicago, Philadelphia, and additional cities, with the North American leg scheduled to conclude October 31 at Knockdown Center in New York.

Following the North American dates, the duo will head to Europe for select performances, including a show at Trabendo in Paris and a performance at Troxy in London on November 6, the same day PEACE + WAR arrives. The London appearance carries a personal connection for Manow, who previously worked at the venue, making the album-release performance a full-circle moment.

Since emerging through early releases such as Basspunk and Basspunk 2, Bassvictim have steadily developed a sound that resists easy categorization. The duo followed those releases with their debut album, Forever, and the EP ?, each pushing their music toward increasingly unconventional and emotionally expansive territory.

That willingness to take risks has also drawn attention from Pitchfork, which described the duo as “always funnier and more creative than other modern electroclash revivalists,” praising their “freakishly unstable songs” as “intoxicating.”

With PEACE + WAR, Bassvictim continue exploring the space between abrasive electronics, warped pop, and unfiltered emotion. The new single “White Flag” sets the tone for an album that embraces contradiction, pairing club-ready momentum with the duo’s unpredictable approach to songwriting and production.
