Brazilian electronic music star Alok joins forces with underground house veteran DJ Glen and producer ICARUZ for “Weekend Warriors,” a driving, bass-heavy house collaboration released via John Summit’s Experts Only. Bringing together three artists with distinct backgrounds in electronic music, the track celebrates the people who keep dance music culture alive, from those behind the decks to the crews working behind the scenes.
Built around a rolling bassline, punchy four-on-the-floor drums, and a hypnotic vocal hook, “Weekend Warriors” draws heavily from tech-house influences. Crisp percussion, sharp electronic stabs, and playful vocal phrases give the production its character, while subtle shifts in rhythm and texture maintain momentum throughout. Rather than relying on oversized drops or melodic breakdowns, the track prioritizes groove and sustained late-night energy.
The single carries a personal story that began approximately three years ago. DJ Glen, born Glen Faedo, initially conceived the record as a tribute to his late friend Ortega, a VJ who passed away during a performance roughly a decade ago. What started as a personal dedication gradually developed into a broader celebration of the individuals who make electronic music possible, including DJs, VJs, producers, technicians, road crews, and promoters.
As the project evolved, ICARUZ and Alok joined the creative process, bringing their own production approaches to a track rooted in shared experiences and the community surrounding dance music. The result connects a personal remembrance with a wider acknowledgment of the people whose work often takes place away from the spotlight.
The collaboration also brings together artists whose careers have taken different paths through the electronic music landscape. DJ Glen has spent more than two decades immersed in Brazil’s underground house scene, releasing music through influential labels such as Dirtybird, Cajual, CUFF, and Musical Freedom. ICARUZ, the electronic project associated with Belgian producer Yves V, draws on a career spanning international dance music stages and productions across multiple electronic styles. Paired with Alok’s international reach, their collaboration bridges Brazil’s underground house community and the broader global club scene.
The release also adds another chapter to Alok’s recent exploration of club-focused sounds. Previous collaborations include “Keep Up” with Argy and Adam Beyer, along with “Mind Illuminate” featuring SIDEPIECE and Victor Ruiz. The new single arrives alongside his four-track Rave The World EP, continuing a run of projects that explore different corners of electronic music.
Releasing “Weekend Warriors” through Experts Only further connects the collaboration to the international underground house circuit. Founded by John Summit, the label has developed a platform for dancefloor-driven electronic music, making it a fitting home for the single’s bass-forward production and percussion-led arrangement.
The connection between Alok and John Summit extends beyond the label, with Alok joining Summit for eight dates of the CTRL ESCAPE North American Arena Tour, beginning October 23 at Montreal’s Bell Centre. The run also includes stops at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, Boston’s TD Garden, Houston’s Toyota Center, and Austin’s Moody Center, bringing the two artists together on stages across North America.
Meanwhile, Rave The World continues to expand as a creative platform encompassing both a record label and a global live experience. Launched earlier this year, the project draws inspiration from the foundational values of rave culture, including unity, freedom, respect, and collective connection through music. Performances at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, Tomorrowland Belgium, Pacha New York, and Brazil’s Laroc Club have helped extend the concept to audiences across multiple markets.
With “Weekend Warriors,” Alok, DJ Glen, and ICARUZ bring those community-driven ideals into a club-ready production. Beneath its rolling bassline and relentless percussion, the track serves as a reminder that electronic music culture depends on more than the artists commanding the stage. It also belongs to the people who build the experience, sustain the scene, and keep the dancefloor moving.
