Irish pop artist Shobsy continues his international rise with the release of his new EP, The World Will Not Remember, alongside its closing single, “Perfect.” Following a whirlwind couple of years that have taken him from the United States to stages across Europe, an international publishing deal, and a signing to influential UK label SO Recordings, the four-track project captures a deeply personal chapter in his life.

Recorded across Berlin and Dublin, The World Will Not Remember moves between synth-pop, soul, and R&B, drawing inspiration from the sounds and artistry of George Michael, David Bowie, and The Weeknd. Across its four tracks, Shobsy explores different sides of his musical identity while keeping his distinctive vocals and songwriting at the center of the project.

The EP opens with “OH!”, a seductive soul groove that establishes its atmospheric direction. From there, “Silver Line Livin’” and “Royalty” deliver bigger pop moments, balancing the project’s genre-hopping approach with an accessible, melodic sound. The final track, “Perfect,” takes a more vulnerable turn, stripping back the production to make room for an emotionally raw performance.

As the EP’s only ballad, “Perfect” holds particular significance for Shobsy. The artist initially questioned whether he would ever release the song because of its personal subject matter, but encouragement from friends eventually helped him share it with listeners.

“At the time of writing it felt too close to the bone. Over time friends have convinced me to release it. It’s a warm goodbye to someone I’ve loved for a long time. It’s a raising of a glass to them as life and paths shift,” Shobsy explains.

The restrained arrangement allows his vocal range and songwriting to take the lead, turning the track into a moving reflection on love, change, and the difficulty of saying goodbye. Rather than building toward a dramatic climax, “Perfect” finds its strength in its intimacy, offering a quieter conclusion to an EP shaped by personal experiences.

That personal focus extends to the project’s title. Documenting the last six months of his life, The World Will Not Remember considers how the experiences that feel monumental to us can eventually fade as the world continues moving forward. Despite the weight of that idea, Shobsy approaches it with self-deprecating humor and a sense of creative freedom.

“The importance we feel as the protagonist in our lives, the loves, the losses, the successes and failures, all seem to eventually fade in a fast-moving world. They get quite rudely dashed out by the universe,” Shobsy says. “It’s an essential and natural process beyond us all. I want to use this reality as opportunity, as artistic license to make whatever, whenever, both safe and in awe at the fact that the world will not remember!”

That perspective gives the EP a unifying thread, connecting its shifts between soul, synth-pop, and R&B through a shared interest in the fleeting nature of relationships and personal milestones. For Shobsy, the project becomes an opportunity to turn those experiences into music without losing sight of the bigger picture.

With The World Will Not Remember and “Perfect,” Shobsy delivers one of his most personal releases to date, pairing genre-spanning pop songwriting with an honest reflection on love, loss, and the moments that shape us, even when the world eventually moves on.
