As FUTUR Festival Mexico prepares for its first edition outside Europe, the festival is inviting digital artists worldwide to help shape its debut with ART OPEN CALL 2026 – Artists for the Futur. The international initiative challenges artists and collectives to create original audiovisual work that brings together digital art, technology, and electronic music under the theme “Envision the FUTUR.”
The open call encourages artists to look beyond traditional festival visuals and explore how digital artwork can become part of the environment itself. Rather than serving as a backdrop to performances, selected pieces will interact with the festival’s architecture, atmosphere, and audience, contributing to the experience at Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico.
Artists and collectives from any country who are at least 18 years old can apply by submitting an original 15-second video or animation inspired by the festival’s creative universe. Submissions must be designed for a four-sided digital display measuring 3 x 1 meters, with a resolution of 768 x 256 pixels. Selected works will be exhibited during FUTUR Festival Mexico on November 14, 2026, giving attendees an opportunity to experience the projects throughout the event.
Projects will be evaluated by the Creative and Experience team behind FUTUR Festival Italy. Applicants must provide an artist or collective biography, portfolio, project concept and objectives, moodboard or visual references, and a technical sheet. Selected projects will advance to a second review stage before final delivery.
Artists whose work is selected will receive official credit during the exhibition, promotion across the festival’s media and digital channels, a certificate of participation, and two VIP Premium passes. Flights and accommodation are not included.
The open call launches September 30, with submissions closing October 20. Selected projects will be announced on October 30, giving chosen artists time to prepare their work for the November exhibition.
Taking place November 13–14, 2026, at Parque Fundidora, FUTUR Festival Mexico marks a major step for the festival as it brings its approach to electronic music, club culture, art, and creative production beyond Europe for the first time. The Monterrey event will extend that vision beyond the dancefloor, inviting international artists to help shape the visual environment surrounding the festival experience.
With ART OPEN CALL 2026 – Artists for the Futur, the festival is creating an opportunity for digital artists to contribute directly to its debut in Mexico, placing audiovisual creativity alongside music as a central part of the event.
