Sometimes the biggest warning signs in a relationship are the ones you recognize and choose to ignore anyway. Zuzu Silk, Selena Faider, and Bali explore that tension on “Slow Down,” a new collaboration that pairs deep, techy house production with silky pop vocals. Out now through Aluna’s Noir Fever, the track captures the exhilaration of a romance moving faster than either person can control.
Built around a warm bassline and restrained club groove, “Slow Down” leaves plenty of space for Zuzu Silk’s vocals to carry the emotional weight. Her delivery balances vulnerability and confidence as the song explores the uneasy space between recognizing that something might be moving too quickly and being unable — or unwilling — to step away from the momentum.
“It’s so easy to get caught up in a high-speed romance, even when the signs are telling you to slow down, even when you know you could crash,” Zuzu says. “Working with Bali and their sound has been therapeutic and allowed me to put my whole heart into this record. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Selena put her spin on it and made it soar.”
The collaboration also represents another important moment in Zuzu Silk’s development within Noir Fever. Her relationship with the label began at its first writing camp, where she emerged as a standout and collaborated with AQUTIE on “Big Bag Bounce.”
That early connection eventually led to Zuzu becoming the first artist signed to Noir Fever’s publishing arm. From there, she entered a period of mentorship and creative development alongside Aluna, giving the emerging artist an opportunity to develop her sound while building the wider creative foundation around it.
That approach reflects the larger purpose behind Noir Fever, which aims to create an ecosystem where Black artists working in electronic music can access collaborators, resources, and long-term support as they build sustainable careers.
For Selena Faider, “Slow Down” adds another chapter to a rapidly developing career. Born in Paris, the rising house artist has already been named one of 1001Tracklists’ Future of Dance 2025 artists, while DJ Mag has described her as “The Future of House.”
Her collaborative debut, “Underground World,” alongside New York house pioneer Todd Terry, helped establish her presence in the scene, with subsequent productions receiving support from BBC Radio 1, Capital Dance, and Kiss FM. Her growing live résumé includes appearances at Glastonbury, Capital Dance Malta, Uncommon Festival, and ADE.
“Slow Down” also brings the warm, groove-focused sound of California duo Bali into the mix. Their production style draws on the more connective and escapist qualities of house music, creating a natural foundation for Zuzu’s vocals and Selena’s contribution.
The duo have previously released music through Nervous Records, Criterio, and Warner Music Italy, with support from names including Marco Carola, Dennis Cruz, Deeper Purpose, and Wade. Their involvement gives “Slow Down” another layer of club-focused depth without overwhelming the song’s emotional core.
What makes the collaboration work is the contrast between those elements. The production stays rooted in the dancefloor, but the song’s subject matter is much more personal, turning the familiar rush of a new romance into something complicated and slightly dangerous.
