Few records in house music carry the kind of history attached to Soul Central’s iconic “Strings Of Life / Un Amore Supremo.” Now, chart-topping Australian electronic artist Sgt Slick is giving the celebrated club classic a fresh lease on life, bringing his trademark Nu Disco sound to the record for a modern dancefloor-focused rework.
The release features two interpretations from Sgt Slick: the Sgt Slick Remix and Sgt Slick Dub. While each version approaches the original from a slightly different angle, both preserve the energy and emotional character that have made the track so recognizable. Driving drums, infectious Disco grooves and a strong sense of euphoria give the new versions a contemporary edge without losing sight of the record’s place in house music history.
Taking on a track with such a long-standing reputation is no small task, but Sgt Slick says the opportunity was one he approached with genuine appreciation for the original.
“Some records occupy a special place in the history of House music, and Soul Central’s ‘Strings of Life’ is undoubtedly one of them. It was a massive honour to be handed the keys to such a classic and given the chance to put my own spin on a record that has meant so much to so many people.”
The remix arrives during another strong chapter in Sgt Slick’s career. 2025 became his biggest year as a DJ and producer to date, including six Overall #1s on Traxsource. Among them was “Make It Happen,” which became one of the platform’s highest-selling releases of the year.
His ReCut of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence” also developed into a major club record, becoming one of Ibiza’s most played seasonal tracks. The release received support from Jamie Jones, Diplo, Seth Troxler, Mark Knight, Marco Carola, Fisher, CamelPhat and David Guetta, and continues to make an impact on dance floors around the world.
With more than two decades spent shaping club culture, Sgt Slick has built a catalogue that includes chart-topping original productions and remixes, with multiple #1s across Billboard, Music Week, ARIA, Beatport and Traxsource. His releases have appeared on labels including Ultra, Positiva, Toolroom, Spinnin’ and Def Jam, while his music has accumulated more than 200 million streams worldwide.
One of his most recognizable productions came in the form of his ARIA Gold-certified rework of ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” The track became Beatport’s highest-selling Nu Disco release of all time in 2020 and remained a fixture in the platform’s charts for years, reinforcing Sgt Slick’s ability to reinterpret familiar records for a new generation of club audiences.
For Soul Central, having Sgt Slick reinterpret “Strings Of Life / Un Amore Supremo” brings another perspective to a record that has already enjoyed an unusually long life on dance floors.

Soul Central are best known for “Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own)” featuring Kathy Brown, an anthem that earned widespread acclaim and was voted the fourth greatest dance record ever by BBC Radio 1 listeners in 2008. Its place in that poll put it alongside tracks such as Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” James Brown’s “Sex Machine” and Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love.”
The latest remix also arrives as Soul Central continue to revisit the track’s legacy through a series of modern interpretations. Following the recent Bart Skils and Weska rework on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, “Strings Of Life / Un Amore Supremo” continues finding new audiences while retaining its connection to the dancefloor.
That momentum has included support from Carl Cox at Creamfields, as well as Jamie Jones and Josh Baker at UNVRS, among others.
Meanwhile, CENTRL Music has continued expanding its catalogue and international audience, releasing more than 25 records across its first three years. The label’s catalogue includes the No. 1 WHYT NOYZ version of “Plastic Dreams” and Syncia’s remix of Inner City’s “Reach.”
