More than two decades of Anjuna history are getting a new sonic setting. Above & Beyond have introduced Anjuna: Chilled 01, the first installment in a new compilation series that strips away the traditional dancefloor framework of some of the label’s most celebrated records and rebuilds them through ambient, downtempo, and beatless arrangements.
Arriving December 3 through Anjunachill, the 16-track collection brings together artists from across generations of the Anjuna catalog, including Above & Beyond, OceanLab, Jaytech, Luminary, Smith & Pledger, Andrew Bayer, Dusky, Jody Wisternoff, and PROFF. The trio themselves contribute six brand-new reworks, revisiting “Sun & Moon,” OceanLab’s “Sky Falls Down,” Justin Blau & XIRA’s “Tokyo,” Smith & Pledger’s “White,” Luminary’s “Amsterdam,” and PROFF’s “Deep Orange.”
The idea grew from Anjunachill’s existing Revisited series, but Anjuna: Chilled 01 expands that approach into something much broader. Artists from throughout the Anjuna family, from established names tied to the label’s history to newer signings, are invited to return to records from the catalog and reinterpret them from a different perspective.

The result reaches across more than 20 years of Anjuna music. Thirteen previously unreleased reworks and revisits sit alongside three existing favorites: Dusky’s revisit of “Mr Man,” Planet Of Souls’ revisit of Jody Wisternoff and Sian Evans’ “The Bridge,” and Ryan Davis’ revisit of Andrew Bayer and Ane Brun’s “Hold On To You.”
The newly unveiled interpretations also revisit records from Jaytech, Maor Levi, Anyasa and Bawari Basanti, Tontario and Lake Jons, Powel, Dosem, Parallel Voices, and more, creating a collection that treats the label’s catalog less like a museum and more like a living source of inspiration.
The first preview arrives September 14 with Above & Beyond feat. Richard Bedford – “Sun & Moon (Downtempo Version).” Originally released in 2011 on the trio’s landmark album Group Therapy, “Sun & Moon” has become one of the defining records in the Above & Beyond catalog and a longtime centerpiece of their live performances.
The original track has surpassed 67 million streams, while the new downtempo interpretation places Richard Bedford’s unmistakable vocal performance at the forefront. It also incorporates a previously unheard second verse from Above & Beyond’s acoustic rendition, giving one of the group’s most recognizable songs a noticeably more spacious setting.
Fans were given an early opportunity to experience Anjuna: Chilled 01 in its entirety during Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 700 celebration at The Gorge Amphitheatre, where an exclusive listening session presented the complete album. “Sun & Moon (Downtempo Version)” also received a surprise live debut, appearing as the encore at the end of the group’s headline set.
The compilation arrives after a major milestone for Anjuna. The label celebrated its 25th anniversary throughout 2025 with the Anjuna25 compilation series, a full venue takeover in New York, and a limited-edition 10-vinyl box set containing 84 tracks spanning Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep, and Anjunachill.
For Above & Beyond, the project also follows another significant chapter. Their fifth studio album, Bigger Than All Of Us, was followed by a major North American amphitheater tour that reached more than 130,000 fans. Anjuna: Chilled 01, however, turns the focus toward a quieter element of their musical identity that has been present throughout their career.
Ambient and downtempo influences have appeared across the Above & Beyond catalog, from Tri-State and Group Therapy to 2019’s Flow State, the trio’s dedicated album for yoga, meditation, and reflection. That creative thread eventually helped inspire Reflections in 2022 and its evolution into Anjunachill in 2025.
Since then, Anjunachill has grown to more than 200 releases from 161 artists and accumulated 290 million streams, establishing a dedicated home within the wider Anjuna family for ambient, downtempo, neo-classical, and chillout music.
Anjuna: Chilled 01 takes that philosophy one step further by turning it back toward the label’s own history. Familiar melodies, vocals, and productions remain recognizable, but the dancefloor energy is replaced with room to breathe, allowing listeners to experience well-known records through a more atmospheric lens.
Even the compilation’s visual identity reflects that hands-on philosophy. The artwork was created, photographed, and designed entirely in-house, using real Anjuna ice sculptures and documenting the creative process behind their construction.
The collection will be released digitally as well as in a limited-edition 2×12″ gatefold pressing on transparent vinyl. Following “Sun & Moon,” the campaign continues October 1 with Above & Beyond pres. OceanLab – “Sky Falls Down (Downtempo Version)” and Tontario feat. Lake Jons – “Solitude (Vár Sofandi Rework).” Jaytech – “Atlantic (Ambient Revisit)” follows October 22, while Luminary – “Amsterdam (Above & Beyond’s Downtempo Version)” arrives November 12.
The full Anjuna: Chilled 01 compilation arrives December 3, with Smith & Pledger – “White (Above & Beyond’s Ambient Mix)” serving as the focus track.
For a label whose history is so closely associated with the dancefloor, Anjuna: Chilled 01 offers a chance to hear that history differently. Rather than simply revisiting familiar records, the series gives them new surroundings—and in doing so, opens another chapter in the ever-expanding world of Anjuna.
