Washington, D.C.-based producer Eyezic returns to Lost In Dreams Records with ‘VHS,’ a six-track EP arriving September 10. Looking inward, the project revisits the moments, sounds, and memories that helped shape him, using childhood memories captured on tape as a starting point for a deeper exploration of nostalgia, connection, self-discovery, and acceptance.
For Eyezic, ‘VHS’ represents more than a collection of new songs. It marks a new chapter for an artist stepping fully into the frame and revealing a more confident and emboldened side of his artistry.
The EP opens with “CARE FOR YOU,” a track built around the uncomplicated feeling of caring deeply for someone. The euphoric house production pairs pitched-up vocal hooks with dusty lo-fi spoken-word narration that emerges during the breakdown, creating the feeling of an old voice memo being pulled from the past and given new life.
Fast drum shuffles provide the track with an immediate pulse, while vibrant plucky leads, ethereal atmospherics, soothing nature sounds, radiant modulations, and dreamy spatial effects surround the production in a soft-focus glow. It is a fitting introduction to a project rooted in memory, allowing the warmth of the track to feel both nostalgic and present.
Across ‘VHS,’ Eyezic moves through a series of distinct emotional milestones. “TALK TO ME” explores the desire for genuine connection as life becomes increasingly complicated, while “NEEDU2NEEDME” captures excitement and vulnerability before arriving at the realization that self-love has to come first.
Lead single “WASN’T SMALL” with Jeanne Taylor confronts the lingering weight of unresolved relationship dynamics. “TAKE YOUR TIME” advocates for presence and patience, while closing track “IT’S NOT YOU IT’S ME” reaches a point of full acceptance and ownership over the path ahead.
The EP continues Eyezic’s ongoing exploration of genre crossover, pulling elements from across the electronic spectrum while maintaining the melodic and emotional sensibility that has become central to his sound. Rather than settling into one lane, he uses the six tracks to move between different textures and moods while keeping the emotional thread intact.
For Eyezic, the process of making ‘VHS’ became an opportunity to reconnect with parts of himself that had been left behind.
“This EP feels like finding a light I didn’t know I was looking for. A reflection of the things I once loved, the moments that made me who I am, and the parts of myself I had left behind. I grew up behind the camera, always capturing little moments, and watching life through a lens. Now, somehow, I’ve found myself on the other side of it. This project is me stepping into the frame. Every memory, every little piece of nostalgia brought me closer to myself again. Everything I’ve loved along the way, shaping me into the person I am today. The EP is about remembering who I’ve always been.”
Over the course of his career, Eyezic has steadily carved out his own space within modern electronic music, releasing music through Bitbird, Lowly, Proximity, and Lost In Dreams, where he previously released the ‘Reflections’ and ‘In Motion’ projects.
His catalog includes collaborations with Babsy., demotapes, CloudNone, Atura, and Blookah, along with official remixes for Tate McRae, San Holo, ALLEYCVT, CloZee, and Maddy O’Neal. His music has also received support across major radio shows hosted by Martin Garrix, Louis the Child, ILLENIUM, Alison Wonderland, SLANDER & NGHTMRE, and Zeds Dead.
That studio versatility has also translated into his live performances. Eyezic recently supported Babsy., building on previous appearances alongside Sammy Virji, Disco Lines, and TroyBoi. An upcoming headline performance at Planet Had2 in Richmond adds another milestone to an increasingly active live schedule.
With ‘VHS,’ Eyezic turns the act of looking backward into a way of understanding where he is going next.
