Militarie Gun releases God Save The Gun (Deluxe) today via Loma Vista Recordings, expanding their celebrated 2025 album with four additional tracks that offer a glimpse into what came next for the band following the record’s deeply personal perspective.
The deluxe edition features the recently released “World’s Always Burning” featuring Mannequin Pussy, along with the previously unreleased “I’ve Said Too Much” featuring Dazy, “3 AM,” and “Thought You Were Waving [Anthony’s Version],” a new interpretation by Anthony Green of Circa Survive, L.S. Dunes, and Saosin.
While the three new original songs were initially recorded with the intention of appearing on God Save The Gun, the band ultimately decided they represented a different point in the creative process. The album focused heavily on internal and first-person themes, while these songs began looking outward and exploring what happens after becoming consumed by your own thoughts.
“Everything in ‘God Save The Gun’ became so focused on the internal, that when it came to fitting these songs in, it felt like they had stepped outside of that perspective. In my head these songs started to form into the feeling of finally coming to after being so caught up in your own head, and then realizing the rest of the world is still out there and you haven’t been actively participating,” vocalist Ian Shelton explains.
That shift in perspective also makes Anthony Green’s version of “Thought You Were Waving” an especially fitting addition to the deluxe release. Shelton says the collaboration began after Green sent him a video of himself performing the song, prompting the idea to turn the performance into a full recording.
“Anthony doing a version of ‘Thought You Were Waving’ is one of the most surreal things. I always love when a cover can, in my opinion, surpass the original version. I hear decisions that Anthony made on it and I go, ‘Damn, why didn’t I think of that?’”
“When we decided to do the song together, it was because he had previously sent me a video of him doing it. So I thought, why don’t we make a real version of this? To me, it proves that a song can just be the first draft of an idea. I think that Anthony improved the song and made it better, and his version now gets stuck in my head instead of my own.”
God Save The Gun (Deluxe) arrives shortly after Militarie Gun appeared on Elevator Music, performing live versions of songs from the album including “B A D I D E A,” “Kick,” “God Owes Me Money,” “Thought You Were Waving,” and “Throw Me Away.”
Earlier this year, the band also took over NPR’s Tiny Desk, delivering stripped-back and newly arranged versions of songs spanning their discography.
The deluxe release comes during an active stretch for Militarie Gun, who recently wrapped a headline tour across Europe before launching their North American 20 Songs for 20 Dollars tour. As its name suggests, tickets for every date are priced at just $20.
The 27-date run kicked off in Oklahoma City and includes stops in Austin, Miami, Nashville, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, Vancouver, and more before concluding with a hometown show in Los Angeles on October 15. Softcult, Shady Nasty, and Dazy will join the band on select dates.
The band will also perform at CBGB Festival in New York City this September before supporting the legendary Sex Pistols for a string of West Coast dates in October.
Militarie Gun originally released God Save The Gun via Loma Vista Recordings last October. The album includes “God Owes Me Money,” which became a BBC Radio 1 Hottest Record In The World and was described by Rolling Stone as “tragically catchy.” “B A D I D E A” and “Throw Me Away” were also released alongside videos directed by Ian Shelton.

With God Save The Gun (Deluxe), Militarie Gun revisits the ideas that shaped their 2025 album while showing where those thoughts began to lead them next. As the band continues its extensive North American touring schedule, the expanded release offers another perspective on one of their most personal records to date.
