Edinburgh-born producer Grum has reunited with Sydney singer-songwriter Amba Shepherd for “Unsaid,” a vocal-driven trance collaboration that marks their debut on Dreamstate Records.
The new single brings together two established names from the electronic music world, pairing Grum’s expansive production style with Shepherd’s instantly recognizable vocals. Built around the emotional weight of words left unspoken, “Unsaid” balances cinematic atmosphere with the forward momentum of progressive trance.
The track opens with lush, orchestral arrangements before gradually building into driving progressive rhythms. Chirping analog arpeggios, shimmering textures and crunchy basslines add movement beneath Shepherd’s ethereal delivery, creating a record that feels equally suited to a late-night club set and a larger festival stage.
For Grum, “Unsaid” represents another step in a career that has seen him move comfortably between Trance, House, Techno and Progressive sounds. The Scottish producer has remained a prominent figure in the electronic scene for more than a decade, with his versatility particularly evident in his hybrid hardware live performances.
The collaboration also reunites the pair shortly after their first musical meeting. Grum and Amba Shepherd previously joined forces on “Slow Motion” in April, earning support from tastemakers including Andrew Rayel, Kyau & Albert, Super8 & Tab, Genix, Ronski Speed and Frankyeffe, as well as Above & Beyond.

With four full-length albums released since 2010, Grum has built a catalog that reflects his broad approach to electronic music. He has collaborated with artists including Natalie Shay, Able Joseph and Dash Jones, while his productions have received support from Armin van Buuren, deadmau5, Solomun, Gareth Emery and CamelPhat.
His live résumé includes appearances at ABGT500 at Banc of California Stadium, Dreamstate SoCal, EDC Las Vegas, ATOMIKA Festival and Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats Warehouse in Birmingham. He has also headlined Level 8 LA and Anjunabeats’ Open-Air at Aura Cocina & Bar, with another major appearance on the horizon at ABGT 700 at The Gorge on September 12.
Amba Shepherd brings an equally extensive history to the collaboration. The multi-platinum vocalist has worked with some of dance music’s biggest names, including Hardwell, Porter Robinson, Tiësto, R3HAB, Dash Berlin, Afrojack, Ferry Corsten and Laidback Luke.
Her career has also included two IDMA nominations, multiple appearances on the Billboard Dance chart and a Top 10 position on the ARIA Club chart. Her distinctive vocal style has made her a familiar presence across trance, progressive and crossover electronic releases.
