Fast-rising Brazilian DJ and producer Roddy Lima has unveiled his most ambitious project yet with the release of his seven-track EP, OVERDRIVE, arriving on July 31. Building on a breakout year that has established him as one of electronic music’s most promising new talents, the project showcases an artist confidently pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional club music.
While rooted in the groove-driven tech-house sound that has fueled his rapid ascent, OVERDRIVE explores a broader sonic palette, weaving together elements of techno, indie dance, and melodic electronic music into a cohesive body of work. The result is a record that balances peak-time dancefloor energy with a more expansive artistic vision.
The EP arrives following the success of its lead singles, “ZIPLOCK” and “ALL OVER AGAIN” featuring LUMI. “ZIPLOCK” introduced the OVERDRIVE era with its dark, high-octane tech-house production, quickly climbing to No. 1 on Beatport’s Hype Indie Dance Chart. Meanwhile, “ALL OVER AGAIN” paired Roddy with the Finnish breakout artist for another fast-paced club weapon that further highlighted his ability to craft infectious, festival-ready productions.
Opening the project is “HAUNT ME (INTRO),” featuring acclaimed vocalist Sarah de Warren. The atmospheric introduction immediately signals the EP’s wider creative ambitions, pairing de Warren’s ethereal vocals with restrained production that gradually draws listeners into the world of OVERDRIVE. The collaboration follows the pair’s earlier release, “LICK IT,” which arrived earlier this year.
From there, the EP ventures through a diverse range of electronic styles. “VEINS” contrasts uplifting synth melodies with darker industrial house textures, while “DIRTY MIND,” featuring California singer-songwriter Taylr Renee, leans into harder techno influences with relentless intensity.
Later in the project, “FATTY” sees Roddy team up with Los Angeles artist Techno Tupac for a driving tech-house anthem built for peak-time sets. The EP concludes with “ENEMIES,” an unexpected yet fitting finale that introduces guitar-driven indie dance elements, demonstrating Roddy’s willingness to expand his sound without losing the rhythmic energy that defines his music.
OVERDRIVE caps an exceptional run for the Brazilian producer. Earlier this year, Roddy Lima secured two of Beatport’s best-selling tracks of 2026 with “AWAKE” and “SIDE2SIDE,” his collaboration with Suraya. Combined with the chart-topping success of “ZIPLOCK,” those releases have firmly established him as one of dance music’s fastest-rising artists.
His growing reputation has also been fueled by releases on influential labels including Repopulate Mars, Experts Only, Black Book Records, Truesoul, and Drumcode, earning widespread support for his distinctive fusion of groove-led techno and tech-house.
