A new chapter in boutique electronic music experiences begins this fall with the launch of Fort X, an immersive one-day festival set within the historic grounds of Mokrice Castle in Slovenia. Taking place on September 5, 2026, the inaugural event will transform the 15th-century fortress into a striking destination for underground house and techno, featuring performances from Dixon, Maceo Plex, Jimi Jules, Âme DJ, Butch, Nic Fanciulli, and an array of internationally acclaimed and regional artists.
Located just outside Ljubljana, Mokrice Castle provides a dramatically different backdrop from the traditional festival format. Rather than constructing a temporary event site, Fort X has been carefully designed around the castle’s centuries-old architecture and surrounding woodland, allowing the venue itself to become part of the experience.
Festival stages will be integrated throughout hidden courtyards, winding forest paths, and ancient stone walls, creating an intimate environment where history and contemporary electronic music intersect. As night falls, bespoke lighting installations and projection mapping will illuminate the medieval fortress, transforming the landmark into an immersive audiovisual playground before sunrise sessions extend the celebration into Sunday morning.
The debut lineup reflects the festival’s focus on quality over quantity, bringing together some of Europe’s most respected names in melodic house and techno. Joining headliners Dixon, Maceo Plex, Âme DJ, Butch, Jimi Jules, and Nic Fanciulli are Fiona Kraft, Mimi x Fy, Aney F, Elena Mikac, Joe Quinn, and Pablo Panda, creating a carefully curated program that blends internationally recognized artists with standout regional talent.
Rather than emphasizing packed schedules and rapid artist turnover, Fort X has intentionally limited attendance to preserve an intimate atmosphere. The festival’s programming is built around longer DJ sets, allowing artists the freedom to develop deeper musical journeys while giving attendees a more immersive listening experience.
The event is presented in collaboration with BSH Events, one of Europe’s leading electronic music promoters known for producing landmark site-specific events throughout the region, alongside Main Stage Travel, the team behind acclaimed destination festivals including Kala and Snowboxx.
