GRAMMY-Winning Duo Dirty Vegas Return with First Anjunabeats Single, “Believer”

by Eric Valencia

Dirty Vegas, the iconic UK duo comprising Paul Harris and Steve Smith, are making a triumphant return to the dance music scene with their new single “Believer”, out on September 13 via Anjunabeats. This marks the duo’s first original release since 2020 and their debut with the esteemed London-based label.

“Believer” is a captivating blend of melodic and progressive house, embodying the signature Dirty Vegas style that fans have cherished for over two decades. The track features Steve Smith‘s unmistakable vocals, intertwined with groovy basslines and hypnotic synths. It symbolizes a fresh chapter in their career, kicking off a long-term relationship with Anjunabeats.

Thematically, “Believer” reflects on faith, destiny, and the cosmic connections we share with loved ones. The duo shared their thoughts on the release, saying, “Believer is about believing in fate and trusting the universe to guide us. When we returned to the studio earlier this year, we wanted to tap into our club roots and create something that felt organic. Joining Anjunabeats was a natural choice for us, as we’ve always admired the label’s roster of artists, both contemporary and legendary. We feel like we’ve found a true home with the Anjuna family.”

Dirty Vegas first rose to global stardom in 2001 with their timeless hit “Days Go By”, which earned them a GRAMMY in 2003 for Best Dance Recording. The track also became a cultural phenomenon through its feature in a Mitsubishi commercial and even inspired a parody skit by Dave Chappelle. It played a pivotal role in the late ’90s/early 2000s electronica boom, helping to bring electronic music into the mainstream.

Since then, Paul Harris and Steve Smith have continued to innovate and collaborate with some of the biggest names in the dance music world. Paul has worked with artists such as Anyma, Cassian, Gorgon City, Dom Dolla, Duke Dumont, Parisi, Tiësto, and Vintage Culture. Meanwhile, Steve has contributed to projects with anamē, Portugal the Man, Santiago Garcia, and Sultan + Shepard. Their music has also been featured in numerous films, TV shows, and video games.

“Believer” is a powerful return for Dirty Vegas, and their partnership with Anjunabeats signals an exciting new chapter in their already legendary career.

Dirty Vegas’ “Believer” is available on September 13 via Anjunabeats.
