Acclaimed producer Sango is set to take listeners on a global musical journey with the announcement of his forthcoming album, Rhythm and Melody, arriving July 10 via Mass Appeal. Alongside the announcement, the genre-defying artist has released his latest single, “The Cold,” featuring Babyface Ray, G.T., and Julian Andretti, offering another glimpse into an album that effortlessly bridges cultures, cities, and musical traditions.

Built around the idea that “there’s something for everybody,” Rhythm and Melody showcases Sango‘s remarkable ability to blend sounds from across the globe. The project fuses the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats, the gritty lyricism of Michigan rap, the bounce of New Orleans, the rapid-fire movement of Chicago footwork, and the unmistakable energy of Baile Funk into a cohesive body of work. The album also features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including platinum-selling artists Big Sean, Smino, and GoldLink, further highlighting Sango‘s versatility as both a producer and curator.

Leading the album rollout is “The Cold,” a collaboration rooted in the sounds and stories of Michigan. Joined by Babyface Ray, G.T., and Julian Andretti, Sango crafts a moody, hard-hitting backdrop as the trio reflects on perseverance, survival, and the realities of everyday life. The record captures the duality of growing up amid Michigan‘s warm summers while confronting the emotional and economic hardships symbolized by the “cold” that extends far beyond the weather.

The new single follows the release of “St. Claude,” featuring legendary New Orleans artist HaSizzle, also known as “The Voice.” Together, the tracks offer an early preview of the expansive sonic landscape that defines Rhythm and Melody.

Over the years, Sango has quietly built one of contemporary music’s most diverse and respected catalogs. From the soulful textures of In The Comfort Of to the Brazilian influences showcased throughout his acclaimed Da Rocinha series and the beat-driven explorations of North Vol. 2, his work consistently pushes beyond genre boundaries. His production credits span an impressive list of artists, including Tinashe, Bryson Tiller, GoldLink, Drake, Frank Ocean, Aaliyah, Little Dragon, and The Weeknd, underscoring his reputation as one of modern music’s most innovative producers.

A core member of the influential Los Angeles collective Soulection, Sango began producing music at just 12 years old alongside his older brother and friends. Over time, he developed a signature sound rooted in hip-hop and soul while embracing global influences that seamlessly incorporate Brazilian funk, electronic music, and international rhythms. His productions continue to serve as a celebration of cultural exchange, proving that music can transcend borders through rhythm and shared experience.

With Rhythm and Melody, Sango once again demonstrates his ability to unite diverse musical worlds into a singular artistic vision. Blending international influences with deeply rooted regional sounds, the album promises to be one of his most ambitious and adventurous projects to date.

Rhythm and Melody arrives July 10 via Mass Appeal, while “The Cold” featuring Babyface Ray, G.T., and Julian Andretti is available now on all major streaming platforms.
